  1. Excellent - thank you for taking the time to reply to me ! I am so grateful that I no longer have to worry about future upgrades wiping my changes out !
  2. Credit notes will be not be needed as they will be handled by another system, Prestashop is being use to process orders only not payment. Can someone please tell me how to permanently hide/disable Credit Notes from the Your Account section permanently so that it will also be this way in future upgrades - thank you.
  3. Thank you for getting back to me. This site will be accessed by account holders only, so the SEO really isn't a concern as access will be added manually - with that in mind would we need the module as well ?
  4. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply - can you tell me what this would give over and above putting the site into B2B mode wouldn't ?
  5. I have looked for a couple of days now for a simple straightforward answer to this question and I am struggling to get through the clouds of spam around peoples modules they want me to buy. All I want to do is export the product data only from Prestashop 1.6.1.18 and import to a completely fresh install of Prestashop 1.7.4.4. Its seems easy and straightforward to do this and of course I can generate a .csv file to import into the fresh install no problem, but I can't see anyway to tell Prestashop what data to export - which is a bit of a problem if fields like "description" aren't automatically included in a .csv dump. Perhaps I am over simplifying things in my mind, but shouldn't this be fairly straightforward ? Thanks in advance for anyone who has the time and experience to advise me.
  6. Morning all, I am setting up a wholesale website using Prestashop 1.7.4.4 and I want to make the entire site password protected - so customers need a username and password before they can see any information or place orders. We will be creating and managing accounts and emailing login details to the customers. Prefer something that won't break with future updates. Thanks as always for your advice and time. So after getting my head out of the spin it was in - turning on B2B of course did everything I needed....
  7. I have a website which is an existing Prestashop install version 1.6.1.18 - I now want to convert/update/migrate this to Prestashop 1.7.4.4 and make the new website a wholesale only website with 3 pricing structures - retail/wholesale1/wholesale2. Do any of you have any advice or recommendations before I start, have you been through the update/migrate process and can tell me any things I might need to know to make migrating the existing install to 1.7.4.4 more efficient ? Are there any modules any of you can recommend which will make the management of wholesale access/discounts easier ? Thank you for any information
  8. Thanks so much for your help and support, it really is appreciated. Weirdly disabling "Newsletter block v2.3.2 - by PrestaShop" got rid of this checkbox..... So long and thanks for all the fish !!!
  9. Can anyone tell me how I disable newsletter account signup on account creation as despite disabling this as an option in the back office it still appears on the account signup form ? Prestashop 1.6.1.17 Thanks as always for your help and advice.
  10. I am not sure if I am asking the wrong question, the wrong way - all I want is the menu/block that appears here: To also appear here : And here: In the same position.... To get round any troubling concerns with who is smarter than who and who should know what and doesn't, can we please just assume that I don't know how to do this (really not a clue) and that I genuinely need some help here. Hope that clears things up.
  11. Can anyone help me with the category module block not appearing in category or product pages ? Please ?
  12. For some reason I cannot see the categories block on product pages here; http://www.thetoyfinder.com/store/index.php?id_product=13&controller=product Can anyone please tell me a simple solution to this, which I clearly missed All the best Nick
  13. http://www.thetoyfinder.com/store/index.php Loving the latest incarnation of Prestashop - thank you. Need a couple of things changing if possible ? In the Top Menu - the "HOME" link says "ROOT" - reason I have used this link is that I prefer the menu drop down to the flyout which some people find troubling. Can I change the menu link to say "HOME" instead of "ROOT" ? And the only other small thing is the category menu on the left handside of the home page. I also want it to show on Category pages like this: http://www.thetoyfinder.com/store/index.php?id_category=12&controller=category What do I need to change to make this happen ?
  14. Hi there, thanks for taking the time to reply. No not really - as this means editing core files - the one thing I am trying to avoid. I did manage to search for these myself, but unfortunately as mentioned - core file edits are not what I am after here.
  15. My clients believe that the date of birth requirement in the checkout is causing people to cancel orders. While I can reassure them this is not the case (I am not 100% this is true by the way) they would like to try this and find out for themselves. It appears difficult to remove this field without editing core files - the ideal situation would be to turn it off and on easily and not have to worry about core fields being overwritten when updated. Not totally against the idea of using a module or addon to control this, but when I went to the prestashop addons site I was informed that no such addon existed and was given the URL for the user manual.
  16. That is brilliant and straight forward advice - thank you so much El Patron. Could you tell me which sections I should select from that graphic above to block from the sitemap so that the extraneous results do not appear at the top and google sees the product information immediately ? Although looking at it again, this isnt a sitemap problem is it....damn I am REALLY confused now Again, thank you Nick
  17. Can someone please just give me a straightforward answer here ? http://www.ourladysgiftshop.com/312-hand-painted-crosses How do I remove the 312 from that URL to a Prestashop 1.6.0.9 category ? Or even the 2 from this URL ? http://www.ourladysgiftshop.com/hand-painted-crosses/2-10-cm-children-of-the-world-united-wood-cross.html Do I need to remove them ? Do Google and the other search engines really care that much ? I know others know much more than me about these kind of things, so try and bear that in mind if you want to help me - we are not all code gods which is why some of us use Prestashop in the first place. Also - Browseo appears to show this as Googles view of a standard Prestashop website: http://www.browseo.net/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ourladysgiftshop.com%2F312-hand-painted-crosses Does that seem right or should the information above "> Hand Painted Crosses" be removed from the site map on the prestashop backend? If so which sections on Google Sitemap module do I need to select to remove safely so that the sitemap module does not add unwanted sections ? Thank you !!!
