  6. I am not sure Digi, sorry .....only 2 come to mind, like I said permissions or host. I've tested on 2 hosts and not seen these problems.
  7. Hi! Digi All these points you say are working just fine, you have alpha 1 or 2? All I can suggest is you check your permissions
  8. Hi! Most obvious is customer account pages, checkout ,contact and admin
  9. no take the .txt off and place the dot in front of the h .....it will just overwrite the other. In your prestashop back office it will tell/show you if the correct permissions are set , this depends on your host 755 or 777, just refresh your page
  10. your welcome! on the right of cpanel window of the file you just uploaded, you will see numbers. Click that and a box will open to change the permissions, as I suggested in the above post. It has to be writable to generate
  11. no...no folder that is what I mean by the root...where your main structure is eg: 404.php, address.php etc If you shop is in folder shop then put in shop, if it's not in a sub folder then put it in there
  12. yes if you are using cpanel...the root is your main site rename it then change your file permissions to either 0755 or 777 depending on your host
  13. No problem Barry....on your computer right click -> new-> text document save as htaccess (no dot infront of htaccess) I've attached one for you ...no just ftp to your prestashop root folders and rename it to .htaccess htaccess.txt
  14. If you want to remove the cat ID then there is more info here from Damien http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/12632/installing_prestashop/help_remove_category_id_from_url
  15. Hi! Open up your notepad and save the text file as htaccess.txt, then ftp the file into the root of your prestashop site and then rename it .htaccess Now go back to your BO and refresh, making sure you have the correct permission to make it writable....now you hit the generate button and it will generate it for you.

  18. Hi! I'm no expert and I learn as I go, but I hope it helps. I'm not sure about why the 600/1200 ratio, but make sure you Redirect sitename.com to www.sitename.com (or vice versa) for SEO in your htaccess. I should explain myself about the sitemap, when ever I add new content or products I regenerate it. Here are a couple of links to help explain about the http headers http://developer.yahoo.com/performance/rules.html Google webmasters tools https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=sitemaps&passive=true&nui=1&continue=https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/&followup=https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/&hl=en http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html Hope this helps you a bit!
  19. Hi! Netman I few things and I agree with the other..firstly SSL is important. Customers want to know that their info is safe. Content is king! eg: for your product descriptions .On your contact form, it is good to have at least a contact address or phone. (Yslow extension for firefox) , if you don't have it already it is a great tool to have. Submitting Your Site to Major Search Engines & Directories Google - http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl Yahoo - http://docs.yahoo.com/info/suggest/ (Regarding Yahoo, it works differently. It require you to "Suggest your site") http://dmoz.org/add.html - DMOZ Directory It does take time and it won't happen over night! but you will get there
