Thanks El Patron, I will consider this, Regards,

Frankly can't say how much support the wider development community still contributes towards PS. You can see from the interaction on this forum, doesn't appear there's a lot of [spam-filter] support. After just getting PS I learned on the internet that a lot of the community didn't like 1.7. I am guessing this is what birthed the project Thirtybees, mostly led by PS gurus (it seems). Personally, I just want to get my marketplace up and running (with minimal issues), so I ask which is better: which has more themes / modules / features and which will have more support in the short and long term? Let's say the PS company leadership decides to address all concerns, what then happens to Thirtybees? I might be wrong though, but well...

Thanks for the info. This probably explains why my host couldn't successfully install it. I wondered why a team with experience installing PS would suddenly not be able to install it anymore. The error message said "bad configuration file"...

Interesting. I'd love that too, but I hear they are pricey. Who's your provider and around how much per month you paying? I would need a managed service, as I am not very technical. Thanks.

Hi Tinystore, thanks. Frankly, I did consider A2 and they were looking good to me for much of the time. I think many of these hosts sound so much alike that there is no differentiation in that industry. It's seems pretty confusing to make the right choice.
  6. You might be right on this... But then again it's the weekend, so folks might have been out Friday night (European time)...
  7. Which plugin is that? By my last count I have seen atleast 4-5 modules on PS marketplace that convert your shop to multistore. The web hosting company wouldn't have anything to do with this, would they?

Thanks Stylesupplier for your response. I considered Bluehost, but I understand they only host from their base in Utah and I want the closest servers to Africa (particularly West and Central parts). The other important consideration would be a well spread CDN network and that doesn't seem to be the case with Bluehost currently. And finally, on Bluehost's website there's a lot of talk about WP/Woo, but no mention of Prestashop...
  9. Hi All, Thanks for all your support. A short question this time. Do you need to add dropshipping module to a marketplace module in PS to automate seller and carrier notifications or does this function already come standard in the marketplace module? Thanks. Regards,

Hi All, Can someone please recommend the best of the most affordable hosting solutions for PS? From the PS recommended hosting partners I chose TMD Hosting, but at this moment I am not confident I made the right choice. Theme and dropshipping menu were attempted to be installed on separate subdomains... Since Monday 5th Feb they haven't been able to successfully install a PS theme I bought last week. First, someone forgot it (I presume) for about 3 days, plus I have to repeat myself over again with the next person on shift (so it seems) that picks up the case, and now I am being told about some error message that isn't being communicated. What could be the cause of this error? They sent me a link to a screenshot where I didn't see the error. Thanks.
  11. Hello Everyone, Kindly accept my greetings. I did a couple of searches on the forum and it appears that this forum rarely discusses multivendor shops. Is it that there not many marketplace experts here or that not many PS users make marketplaces or that Prestashop isn't really a good solution for marketplaces (probably still new to multistore). I even went through many of the partner agencies listed on the main PS site and didn't really find any that lists marketplaces as one of their specialties. Or, am I missing something? Any thoughts? Thanks.
  12. Hi All, I am new; this is my first post. So much to learn, especially as I am not technical. Please, I have some questions and I'd appreciate any help. I intend to build a site that will host a group of e-commerce sites focused on complementary markets. Example, an e-commerce site with marketplace for car spare parts, on the other side marketplace for auto mechanics and a corporate website about auto care tying them together. That's it basically. My considerations: Site architecture: corporate website is on root domain, while each of the 2 marketplaces sits in separate subdomains accessible via linked tabs/buttons. I am wondering if anyone here has built something like that or thinks this is the right way to go (considering UX, SEO, etc)? Good or bad idea? Website template: I plan to buy a complete website template for the corporate website and the car parts marketplace would run on Presta. I have seen some cute (Joomla, WordPress, HTML, etc) website templates and I wonder if there is a preferred CMS/platform template to mix with Presta in this way? Blog/SEO: I have read a lot about impact of blogs and fresh content, so I am wondering how anyone here would do something like this: 3 different blogs in root and subdomains? Or, one blog in corporate site (maybe more reasonable)? In which case I'd just kill the blog on the Prestashop and use whatever blog comes with the corporate site template... But, how do you then achieve regular fresh content in all 3 (root & subs)? Finally, does Google crawl member only sites (one of the subdomains might be member only)? Thanks in advance for all your help.
