  1. Seems the answer can be found either here: http://alvinjiang.blogspot.com/2011/01/prestashop-tips-state-isocode-problem.html or here: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/75783/P15/configuring___using_prestashop/issue_with_paypal Kind regards, Lisa
  2. Ha, ha... you made me laugh out loud MrBaseball34. You are right... "who in the world offers free shipping above a certain weight?" Can see the advert now. "Free Shipping on orders greater than 99 kgs!" Anyways to make a comment regarding adding costs to a transaction because your customer chooses PayPal or credit card instead of bank wire. I think as a shopper that would turn me off a bit to buy from that particular shop. I recommend building the cost into the price of the goods, if that is not possible due to competitors pricing, then offering a discount on the price if they choose bank transfer. I have seen this done quite often in Germany where if you choose to pay by bank transfer then you are given a discount of 2% to 3%. I guess the psychology of gaining a discount is more appealing than being given an extra fee. Even though in the end it is the same cost. Thanks, Lisa
  3. Hey there Cost Tamers, this section of the forum is for "Job Offers & Paid Services" thus it is okay to post things to sell. That is the point of this section. If one is in need of free modules then that would be posted in "Modules". The rest of the forum is dedicated to free tips, help, code snippets, advice, etc... I have received a ton of help here, all for free and offered what I could. I like this section of the forums because it has helped me determine which modules I would like to purchase to make my store, both back and front office, more efficient. I have 3 modules that I am thrilled I purchased and those decisions came from reading this section of the forum. Kind regards, Lisa
  4. Hi All, I am contemplating buying the following module "Email Logs for PrestaShop" costs $10. As stated from their site... "It is a module that stores a log of all the emails your shop sends to your customers. It includes new order notifications, order updates, etc...." It appears that the module places a link called "Email Logs" in the subtab of the "Stats" tab. But before I commit to a purchase I wondered if anyone uses it and if so, what is your experience? http://www.ecommy.com/products/email-logs-prestashop-p-33.html Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Lisa
  5. Hi All, Module running on PrestaShop v.1.3.2.3 I purchased the module to help with being able to make full or patial site and / or database backups more efficiently and easily. Plus I loved the fact that I was provided instructions and the linux command line (right inside the module!) to run Cron jobs on my server to automatically do both types of backups for me as I wanted them scheduled. For the code fearful (which I fall into this category) how cool is that? Upon a simple and successful initial install of the module I was not able to configure the module but instead was shown a blank page. I contacted Tomer, the developer of the module, and within minutes I had a reply and a simple suggested fix (a one line change). I was not able to implement the fix myself because, to be perfectly frank, I was too anxious to fiddle with the module file in question. So Tomer did the fix for me. Within 5 minutes he informed me the module was working. Now that is great customer service all around! Within 20 minutes I had the module configured the way I wanted and my cPanel Cron jobs set up. Now I feel a lot more secure. I am definitely one happy customer. Can only recommend. Kind regards, Lisa
  6. Hi Caroline, can you tell please me if the Sales Order module for PrestaShop is compatible with PrestaShop version 1.3.2? Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Lisa
  7. To Mark4040 (Post #163), 1. After unzipping it to your Modules folder on your server and setting the correct permissions you can then find the module to install in your Back Office -->Modules tab. It is entitled "Tracking visitors v1.3.0". (See screen capture) 2. Click to install. 3. Then go to your "Stats" tab and scroll down to see "Tracking visitors" in the list of Stats. 4. Click on this link and you will see the module in action. 5. First screen will show in red "Calendar disabled" but that is only because you are viewing only currently "Connected" users which are not bound by a date. In other words, you are viewing only the people connected right now to your site. (See screen capture attached) 6. Click on one of the other tabs to view either "Monitoring", "Members", "Visitors" and if using Kjeld's file from post #150 then you will also be able to see both "Vistors and Members" simultaneously. 7. If you are viewing another parameter like "Members" then you can set a Calendar date to see their activity for the time frame you specify. (a week, a month, etc...) 8. Finally and I think this is very cool and at first I overlooked it you can click on the IP address number (example... 80.128.232.155 from my screen capture) and you can see the pages they have viewed in the order they have viewed them. Enjoy! by the way... my Back Office looks different in color scheme than the original install of PrestaShop but that is only because I have reworked all the CSS to match our website. Kind regards, Lisa
  8. Thanks for the great module. Very informative stats. Totally easy to install and get up and running. I am using it on PrestaShop version 1.3.2.3 "Statstrackvisitors" module release v1.3.0 and I have since replaced the "statstrackvisits.php" file which came with the v1.3.0 download with Kjeld's "statstrackvisits.php" file (Post #150) to be able to have the 5th option of seeing both members and visitors simultaneously, instead of each only seperately. The enclosed "readme.txt" file of the module said to set the ENTIRE Statstrackvisitor Module folder to the permission of 777, yet the forum post where one downloads the module says ONLY to set the "setting.inc.php" file to 777 permission. I first set the entire folder to 777 and the module ran fine except the Geo Flags and Origin were not showing. So I set the folder to permission of 755 and only the "setting.inc.php" file to 777. Refreshed my browser window and the flags and locations of the visitors were there. I then replaced the "statstrackvisits.php" file" with Kjeld's version (being sure to set the permission of this file to 755) once again refresh of my browser and now I have the 5th option of how to view members and visitors simutaneously. Could really not have been easier. Thanks again! Will donate. Kind regards, Lisa
  9. Hi all, I seem to have thrown out (stupidly) my original zip download of PrestaShop version 1.3.2.3. Is anyone able to provide a copy of this zip file? I can provide an email address through PM to send it to. I would be eternally grateful if someone could help me out. Thanks and kind regards, Lisa
  10. Hi there, just tested this with PrestaShop version 1.3.2 and works perfect. Set up was a snap. Easy to rework the css to customize the look and feel of the generated html file to match my site. Thanks a lot for developing this really useful module. Will make my work a lot easier. Kind regards, Lisa
  11. Hi there, I believe Rocky, one of the moderators of the English forum, suggested the following fix for this. I use Prestashop version 1.3.2 and it did the trick for me. Edit the file ../admin…/Tabs/AdminCustomers.php on line 26: change $this->deleted = true; to $this->deleted = false; Customer account will be completely deleted and the customer can register with the same email address. Thanks! Lisa
  12. Thanks Rocky for the code modification. I used it exactly as you have written, just changing my zone id to "6" since that was the zone I wanted to offer free shipping and it worked perfectly. Thanks a lot for the fix! Great. Kind regards, Lisa I am using PrestaShop version 1.3.2.3
  13. Hi Veronique, I am very new to PrestaShop in that I am having our custom designed front end templates integrated into v.1.3.2 currently and have only been using a basic download of 1.3.2 as a "test" shop on my server to learn how everything functions. When the programmers complete the programming of my custom shop I hope to be up to speed and can start using our custom shop immediately. I say all this to let you know that I have no real experience with online commerce as of yet. From what I have read, it appears that v.1.2.x (x can be whatever version) is very buggy when it comes to importing files into the database. Regarding the latest versions - 1.3.2 and 1.4 alpha it appears that many of these bugs have been worked out and people have much success with either a workaround of some sort, buying a custom module, developing a custom module or learning how to properly create a csv file to import. So in short to answer your question, yes the newer versions work to import multi language files. I recommend reading these 2 threads if you have not had a chance to yet to get more information about this topic. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/49825 (Part 1) http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/63014 (Part 2) Kind regards, Lisa
  14. Hi there, unsure which version of PrestaShop you are using but there seems to be a bug in v.1.3.2 when importing products in a language other than English. The bug has been corrected in the v.1.4 alpha. The forum member "uddhava" has noted the problem and posted a quick and easy fix here: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/63014/P30/configuring___using_prestashop/guide_import_csv_files__part2__importing_of_products_and_combinations__ps_1_dot_3_dot_x Found on page 3, Post #37 of the above forum topic. Hope that helps. Regards, Lisa
  15. We have found a solution that does not require a custom module at all. Yippee! I have gone ahead and purchased for approximately 32 euro the Aero Slider JSlider Module. Found here: http://catalogo-onlinersi.com.ar/news-banners-prestashop-modules/170-aero-slider-prestashop-module.html I contacted the developer to ask a few questions before purchase and the response was immediate. Right out of the box the module is perfect. Only changes needed were exchanging 3 png files to match our design. Works flawlessly with PrestaShop Version 1.3.1 Am able to control width and height of the slider box, how many images I want to add, text control-font, size, color (even though I do not need this function), can link to any url internal or external, have 3 different styles of slider effect, can control the delay between images from 1 to 10 seconds and can easily reorder the images even after uploading. The back office module interface is clean and intuitive. I just couldn't be happier with the product and the resolution to my problem. Thanks to everyone for your help and pm's. You guys have saved me 300 euros! Kind regards, Lisa
  16. Hi Rocky, thanks for the input. Definitely appreciated. Now I have a better idea if my programmer's request is fair and I feel more comfortable. Regarding the $15/hour ... this is on top of the already paid $2500 US dollars to slice the site designs (photoshop files) and implement the basic PrestaShop back office modules. From the custom template we designed a total of 4 custom modules need to be developed to manage the front end easily without opening source files. These 4 modules would be another $1400 US. If the site functions as we hope then the $3900 will have been well spent. Thanks! Lisa
  17. Hey there, thanks so much for pointing out the Infinite Carousel and providing the link. Will have my programmer check it out. Have a good one! Lisa
  18. Dear Rocky, thanks so much for the heads up regarding the further development of your module. Since you are coding your Image Gallery module yourself and thus are extremely familiar and knowledgeable with building such a module would you think it is reasonable for an experienced programmer to request 24 hours in "effort" to develop such a similar module, as I described in my post above? Since I am unfamiliar with programming I cannot tell if my programmer's request for 24 hours (approximately $360) would be a reasonable request for an experienced programmer to create this module. I would like to pay him fairly for his effort but this is one of 4 custom modules and this is the first job that I have done with him and cannot yet be confident that he is being straight with me. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks again for your quick reply. Kind regards, Lisa
  19. My partner and I are in the process of having our custom designed template be sliced and integrated with PrestaShop Back Office and setup. The template has several custom modules that are needed to allow the site to function as desired. Our programmer has quoted us “effort” in hours to create these modules. Does anyone have any experience with the development of a custom module to be able to tell me would 24 hours be needed to create the following module? jCarousel Module for Home Page From this module we would be able to manage jpeg images (up to 5) and manage linking the jpeg to a featured product found in our catalog. No text management necessary. The module would prevent us from having to go into the necessary .tpl file to manage the images and links. Examples of how the function would look: http://www.smallable.com/ http://www.diver-inside.com/ http://www.timefy.com/en/index.php Since I am unfamiliar with programming I cannot tell if this would be a reasonable request for an experienced developer to create this module. Thanks for any help. Kind regards, Lisa

  21. Sorry Joe I could not be of more help. I am so new to PrestaShop but was working in the Tools-->CMS section today on my demo shop setup that I thought I knew the answer. Good luck in getting this resolved with a seasoned PSer. Regards, Lisa
  22. Hi there, I think you would go to the "Tools" tab and then click the "CMS" link in the menu bar. Hope that helps. Regards, Lisa
  23. Hi Truemedia, thanks so much for the heads up regarding your very cool module. Much appreciated. Our programmer has found a solution for our menu that will not require your module but rather custom coding. But thanks again for taking the time to reply. Best of luck with your module... looks very promising. Kind regards, Lisa
