I have an strange problem (at least for me).

Google Search Console and SEM Rush are reporting some 404 errors in my site, all related to the CMS content (Legal Notice, Terms of Use, etc.). Just an example:

URL not found:

https://www.pecatum..../3-terms-of-use

Linked from:

https://www.pecatum....-wine-75cl.html

If I call the first URL, of course I get a 404 error (correct URL is: https://www.pecatum..../3-terms-of-use).

The problem is, if I call the second URL and examine the code source, I cannot find any "https://www.pecatum..../3-terms-of-use". But I do find the correct link: "https://www.pecatum..../3-terms-of-use".

I didn't change the links format in Preferences > SEO & URLs. I guess it's somehow related to .htaccess / robots.txt / sitemap, but I cannot find the reason.

I know I can write some redirections and solve this, but I prefer to know the origin of the error and thus a "smart" solution.

BTW, I had the same problem with the Wordpress blog installed (via Inveostore Theme Provider) in /blog subfolder. In the beginning I thought it was just a problem with Wordpress, and made redirections with Redirection plugin for WP. But then these other errors in Prestashop appeared, so I'm not sure about anything.

Forgot to say I'm using PS 1.6.

I have found the plugin 'Pretty URLs' does this, and it claims it improves SEO, but I am skeptical of this for two reasons:

1) I have a fair amount of backlinks on a range of my product pages. I understand it does a 301 redirect, but will my rankings still be less strong than they were?
1a) Does removing the ID numbers benefit SEO at all? Did anyone notice in an increase in their SEO rankings?

2) Does removing the ID slow down the webpage? With an ID at the start, it's easy for PHP to recognize which product from just looking at the number, rather than it having to search a 5-10 character category + 30 character title?

Would like to give this a go, but I don't want to risk losing rankings or slow down the page speed, but I have wanted to do this for a while, so I think I will eventually just do it and hope for the best.

Anyone have any experience with this sort of module? Really appreciate it if you'd let us know the result/what happened, if anything??

My prestashop(v 1.7.5.2) dont show pictures when friendly URLs are ON

I've tried everything, that I've found:

-removing .htaccess

-adding custom .htaccess to img folder

-ensure that server mod_rewrite is on

-adding new image on enabled friendly URLs

-regenerate thumbnails

-edit Apache's MultiViews and Apache's mod_security ON/OFF

I'm using default theme with default images settings

I'm going crazy with this problem.

The emails confirming the order, shipping etc. in some Gmail end up in the SPAM folder.

Before all the mail sent from prestahop to Gmail went into spam now after the changes listed below, only in some GMAIL end up in spam.

I made the following changes:

• Configured Email from backend to send only in HTML
• Configured Set personal SMT parameters with the parameters of my server
• Removed from the template of all emails the block that displays the logo at the top
• From the file Classes / mail.php I removed the attachment of the logo
• I have also tried to send only e-mails in text format

Can you give me more tips on how to solve this problem?

I have a big question that has been on my mind since forever. I gave tags to every product in my store. When I click on the tag from my tag module in the sidebar, every tag page has the same "title tag". How can I change the title on the Tag Page from "Search" to the tags name?

If the 'order-confirmation? URL is opened multiple times, it duplicates the order in Google Analytics, completely messing it up and making the numbers all wrong.

I have a shop that is working and I am using prestashop 1.6.1.23 to developpe a new version of my shop with a diffrent domain and it is in maintenance mode.

All the informations in the new version are exactly the same like my live shop.

So when I do the search in google for some of my products, the new version and although it's in maintenance mode shows up in the search results !!!

Please can anyone help me to stop google from showing it ???

To understand more, I added a photo, what I want to remove.

Now, when I go to login as I have in the past, there is an error that the site is using SSL but the IP address and localhost would allow an insecure connection to the BackOffice. I did not place PrestaShop in Maintenance Mode, so I'm at a loss as to why I can't login as SuperAdministrator like I always do.

Can someone assist me with telling me what I need to do in cPanel (perhaps an .htaccess file that needs editing) or what is necessary to allow logins once again? Thank you.

I am running version 1.7.x 

I have installed a module Canonical URLs to Avoid Duplicate Content - SEO 

It works just fine but how can I add canonical url to pages like "home", "best sales", "new products" and such.

 I am using Screaming Frog and it reports duplicate page title as all these pages shows up with the same name "strazz" which is the name of my shop.

How can I avoid this ?

If I deleted "contact" from the SEO & URL menu, the line "contact us" will still stay in the footer and when you click it, you'll get an 404 error page. That's not want I want, because Google doesn't like error pages. I just want to completely delete the contact form from my site, because I'm being innondated with messages coming from Russia. Clients will however still be able to contact us via the e-mail address that also mentionned in the footer.

Products that you submit must be sold at a fixed price. " ? Is that mean can not use more currencies on any online shop or have to fix the prices and if currency is dropping will be loosing money on sales?

Because of google requirements I go to 1.6 and I enable ssl on new site. Before that I was always on first site between first three on google with key words: stenske nalepke .

New site is mobile friendly and have ssl. But now with 1.6 I'm on second site average position for same key word is between 10-15. And I keep geting errors with robots.txt if I genarete them in BO. Another annoying thing is that I have a warnings for all products, if I test site with structured-data testing-tool for products. Picture in attachment.

What Im doing wrong? Can someone point me in the rigt way?

Friendly URL is Yes for projectnew application. When we turn off Friendly URL, all project images show properly. Product images stop showing once friendly URL is turned on. (Attached: friendlyURLon.jpg)

We have defined custom image types and we arent using any of the default image types. (Attached: customimages.jpg) We tried generating thumbnails but that also didnt work. We added _default also at the end of all custom image type names but that also didnt work.

Images and image folders are properly getting generated.

Image URL is "http://www.game4u.com/projectnew/img/p/9/8/8/7/9887-home_left_thumb.jpg" without friendly URL enabled. We checked and the folder structure is also created properly.

Image URL is "http://www.game4u.com/projectnew/9887-home_left_thumb/splinter-cell-six-blacklist.jpg" with friendly URL enabled. I checked with the original installation also and there also friendly URL is getting created in similar way so .htaccess rules are proper.

We also tried regenerating .htaccess many times but still product images arent getting displayed.

How do we rectify this issue? Do we need to change the .htaccess rules?

I created 3 subdomains:

On every subdomains i created statics folders (themes, css, js).

And now i use media servers. (Advanced Parameters -> Performance)

All work ok, static data are downloaded from diferent domains, but it`s not what i want, because now i have duplicated data on every subdomain, and it`s hard to keep data actual on every subdomain. After every each change (for example add new product) i have to reupload data to every subdomain.

How can i setup subdomain, to get static folders from parent page (www.lezecky.sk).

Can i use .htaccess for setup, or is there any setup proces?

Can somebody show me some example, or setup .htaccess file for each subdomain?

I added a new language to our webshop and changes some texts and modules, but now the following strange thing is going on: I only see the English text of the footer sometimes, but it is not permanent there in English when I choose the English language in the left uppercorner. For example, when I go to the homepage www.ropachica.com; select English; scroll down to the end; the text (Condiciones de compra; Aviso Legal etc; tienda online") is still in Spanish. But when I for example go to our website; homepage; BLOG; and I scroll then down to the footer when on the BLOG page, all of a sudden the English text (Purchasing conditions, Legal Notice, Online shop") is there.

Hope this explains my problem a bit. Does anyone maybe know how to fix this?

i have two stores in two languages. The languages are the same in every shop. German/English. Every shop has his own url (country TLD, de and com). I want to avoid duplicate issues. How to setup the seo ? I set up the seo (keywords) for each shop in the two languages.

1)-Should i also set up the seo in the default group ? Why ?
2)-What about the duplicate issues if the shop A in english has the same keywords and metadescription as the shop B english version ? (and also the same products)

we have a many sites not getting crawled by Google Merchant Center. Support told us it is because the images cannot be crawled.
The reason, according Support, is a line in the robots.txt

Disallow: /*controller=images.inc

That is a standard line for prestashop robots.txt. So what is going in here?
Should/can we delete this line?

I own an ecommerce shop and I've been looking for ways to improve business. For the last week or so I've been hunting for info about payment gateways. What I'm interested in is cryptocurrencies, as they seem to be the buzzword these days. My criteria are simple: to accept cryptocurrencies and receive good ole fiat into my bank account. Here's what I've gathered so far:

• The variety is bigger than I'd expected. I was able to find like five payment gateways, and my search was by no means exhaustive.
• The fees range from 0.5% to, I believe, 1.5%. Some companies have the same fees for all the coins, while others differentiate. So quite a bit lower than Paypal or traditional payment providers. In addition, none of them really have monthly fees and seem to be making money on transactions.
• Another one of the selling points seems to be fast transactions and real-time exchange. They're supposed to protect from price fluctuations and put money into your hands quickly. Though I'm not sure how it'd work in real life.
• Integration options also differ, but most of them work with PrestaShop, which is good. 
• Companies try to find ways to differentiate themselves. For instance, CoinPayments accepts a cartload of tokens; Paybear doesn't charge anything during the beta (??), and Monetha advertises a trust and reputation system to boot. 
   

I'm personally enticed by the prospect of reaching a new market. From what I've heard, it's in a bit of a rut right now. But it nevertheless amounts to $200B, give or take–nothing to scoff at. 

All in all, there's a lot of choice and it's kind of confusing. But separate providers aside, what do you guys think about the concept as a whole? Is it worth to start accepting crypto payments, would they bring enough value? What's your opinion about it?

Ces erreurs concernent toutes mes URLs qui contiennent le mot "/xxx-PANIER-xxx".

Dans mon fichier robots.txt j'ai bien cette ligne : "Disallow: /*panier".

Je n'ai cependant pas envie de la supprimer car elle empêche la création de faux paniers des robots...

I just checked ssl then set "SSL Enable" and "active SSL on all pages"

But there is only homepage is correctly working, if you come any category or product, it has fault 404

Sometimes a product is yellow, sometimes it is optional yellow (or red, green, ...). They both exists and must be found in the search results together if I need a yellow product.
If I want to organize a search filter, I would like to create a search option by colour that will show all the products with that specific colour feature or attribute.
How can I do that without having to display the feature colour filter next to the attribute colour filter?

I am creating several packs of products from different categories. I have a doubt (millions more, but I must choose one haha) about what would be the best SEO Url to position products in a Pack, that is, I have two categories: "CATEGORY 1" and "CATEGORY 2", each one of those categories have their own products.

I have created several products packs from each of these categories, would it be better for SEO to create a subcategory called simply "packs" so the URL would be myweb.com/category-1/packs/name-product? A subcategory called "packs-bulbs-cheap" x example myweb.com/categoria-1/packs-bulbs-cheap/product-name, or otherwise create a different category to put the products of the packs? call for example: myweb.com/packs-bulbs-cheap/led-25W

I am using Seobility as a measurement tool for my SEO work on Prestashop.

They report that I am using too many H1 in my text and that I should only use one.

They point out the pages that contains H1 but I am not using H1 in my text at all.

I only use paragraph.

Other SEO tools also shows the same.

When I look at he source code I don't see many H1.  Only one.

Anyone else have the same experience and how can I solve this issue which Google seems to not like ?

I juts noticed that PS 1.7. is missing  the url "/" slash at the end, so i'm getting  a lot of 404 pages I had PS 1.6 and I updated manually to PS 1.7

There is any way I can add the "/" slash in the settings of PS 1.7?

I did try adding the 301 code in .htaccess for the categories URL but the products inside the categories with the 301 don't work  it gives me a 404 when a click on the product.

I have install version 1.7.4.2 on which there is a very long loading time..

The analyze on GTmetrix shows that : "Defer parsing of Javascript".

But I can't find anywhere how to fix it.

I have one cart rule to be used just one for each customer.

Once the customer used it the cart show the rule has been registered , but the cart rule still appear in Cart Voucher part...
It should not been hide ? even if the higlight option is set to On for that rule.

I already prestashop in the main domain, because of incompatibility of the theme with the multinegion I created a subfolder in the main directory and I made a new installation to have the second store, I chose this solution more than the subdomain to avoid problems if in the future I wanted to change hosting.

Now my doubt is this, SEO side I have to create a new sitemap from the BO of the new store to be sent to various google etc or all the new pages of the store2 will already be present in the main sitemap? To have a correct indexing of the pages of the new store which is the practice to always follow that there is one? it's the first time I create a second store inside the same site.

When creating a page in the cms there is no function that allows me to customize the <title> of the page.

In fact, this tag is automatically filled by the name given to the page.

I have some issues with my store.

I try to make everything fine for seo and when i checking sites like seoreviewtools i have problem with my h tags.

I don't have any h1,h2,h3,h5,h6 tags except only a few h4 tags in my products (not in all of them). I'm not using standard prestashop theme.

Anyone has same problem? Someone know what to do in this case?

My version of presta is 1.6.1.13 and i'm using prestabrain theme basic.

We are getting duplicate meta description in webmaster tools for dynamically fetched pages.

Lets say we have 48 products in one category.

Category URL:

www.example.com/6/vegetables

In the first version of the page we allow 24 products. Remaining products are showcased in the next page with below(where page-2 is dynamically generated) URL

www.example.com/6/vegetables/#/page-2

Problem Statement:

Now, google bots are considering these two pages as different pages. But these two pages are all together same page according to us. Overall 301 redirect for canonicalization is already implemented for this scenario in overall application.

Expected Solution:

1. How to remove this error in webmaster?

We are planing to open a small local shop in our city (switzerland) and do this paralel with an online shop. 

Our main problem is, how to manage the online platform with the local shop!?

We sell almost the same products online as in the local shop and our problem is, we don't know how to manage the products stock.

The first idea was to install the free woocomerce plugin and to export 2-3 times a day the stck list and to import it to our local shop system.... 

The second idea is to do everything over a better shop system like prestshop. With prestashop we don't know if we can handle both shops!!

The problem is the following:

When I put a name of a product then this name is automatically copied as the caption of the image of the product. i.e. image caption=product name

As far as I understand it, the caption of the image is used like the ALT derscription of the image and this ALT description is the one that are used by the image search engines for their results.

I would like to have different name of the product, lets say the name will be a catalog code name like BA115F and at the caption I want to use other name (more descriptive) like basket for bicycles. i.e. image caption different than product name

Is this possible?

If it is not possible though the back office, is there any knowledge if this is achievable thought mysql, meaning changing the appropriate cell at mysql database without risking damaging the database?

Easy to configure, I just changed name servers and everything was set from there on, no additional changes besides leaving the security option essentially off and the catching and performance to the highest available option for best performance. With these settings and after testing for one week it went like this:

On google page speed it starting to beat another website that I didnt have with cloudflare on the "server´s time to response", but on day 3 it turned around and now it has been another 3 days in which the cloudflare site give s the warning option of server takes 0,56 seconds to response while the site not linked to cloudflare gives no warning.

With other testing sites I get a mix of results sometimes in favor of cloudflare, sometimes against it, so overall my experience is telling me that it may not be worth it at all.

Has anybody had a clearer experience with cloudflare when it comes to performance?

At the moment, I'm using the default Prestashop structure:

{category:/}{id}-{rewrite}{-:ean13}.html

Which produces the following links:

http://www.sitename.com/category/123456-product-name-0123456789123.html

I'm now looking at changing it to the following structure (which I think might be more efficient because you can find the same words on category and product names):

{rewrite}-{id}-{:ean13}

Which would produce this kind of link:

http://www.sitename.com/product-name-123456-0123456789123

But now I don't really know how to handle the change, if it can even be done easily?

 

Using a RedirectMatch directive from mod_alias in your .htaccess file should do the trick:

RedirectMatch permanent /[^/]+/([0-9]+)-(.*)-([0-9]+)\.html$ /$2-$1-$3

This pulls out the matching parts of your old URLs and redirects them to the new format.

 

My previous product seo was {manufacturer:/}{id}-{rewrite} and now its {category:/}{rewrite}-{id}

How do i redirect it in htaccess?

It say there are 0 products in the chart.

Only way for let it work and do another order is to log out and log in again.

With firefox it work perfect.

How is possible to solve this ?

Actually, I have 2 PS stores whose product's strategy is to have as many product as colors.

So, I don't use attributes.

I have the same description for the product on all colors.

That's why I ask to you if canonical URL will be better in this case ?

If yes, how can I implement this solution ? Does it bother to use simplify URLs in parallel ?

And, how to determine the product to reference for a range of products   ?

In the past I had an option "Redirect to the canonical URL" set to "302 Moved Temporarily (recommended while setting up your store)".

Now I've set it to 301 Moved Permanently (recommended once you have gone live). From that moment, all different friendly URLs redirect to the proper one with 301. The problem is, all old redirects (many of them are important, like old categoriers etc) are still marked as 302.

I don't really want to regenerate htaccess, because I assume I will loose old redirects.

I want to change all 302 to 301. The question is, where are these redirects saved? Some specific file or database? I don't mean main htaccess file when I can add manually 301 redirects. I want to change the existing ones from the file they are already saved in.

I am having trouble underestanding the multistore/multilanguage SEO.

My problem is: I have a multistore setup, but its on the same domain. The reason for this is that we want to separate the people taking care about the translations and management of the different countries and customers. 

The URL structure is:

($cc = countrycode)

www.cc.sitename.com

For example, the czech site is www.cz.sitename.com, however, a few site has 2 languages on it. For example, there are URLS like:

www.cc.sitename.com/en or www.cc.sitename.com/es. This method is only on the main site where the EN language is enabled.

Im not sure, how can I tell google that these sites has to be ranked differently. Hreflang? Sitemap?

If I understand correctly, these URL-s are different:

https://www.sitename.com

http://www.sitename.com

https://sitename.com

http://sitename.com

Do I put the sitemapes to these URL-s, or redirect all of these to one URL like https://www.sitename.com/en and put the sitemaps there?

I'm starting selling with prestashop but i have a question on Seo and i would like to hear some opinion

Now we are selling in a website.it that is 17 years old and we start ten years ago with ecommerce

with a differrent CMS

The domain is .it and the items are presented in italian and in english, but consider that our touraround is 90% from customer outside Italy

I'm thinking to make this change:

1- go on like now in prestashop with two languages in the same domain website.it and use tag hreflang 

2- when i switch to prestashop set it like multistore with the italian pages in website.it and english pages on website.com (a domain that we have buy 1 year ago) and make a redirect 301 for the english pages of the old website

3-Go online like the first point and make the change of point 2 after the search engine get all the new changes 

My question is how is a problem the domain .it for international sales and how much the history of the domain is important, the pages transfered to the new domain will get the old rank bur the new pages generated in the domain.com which rank will have?

We are going to start an ad campain with an affiliate network. We are currenlty offering a 10% discount to users that submit their email on a popup when they visit our site. 

but if we are paying the for the add together with the 10% popup that is just to much. So we are looking for a soluton that if the users come from the affiliate ad to NOT show the popup and if the user comes from one of our other campains to SHOW the popup. 

Is there such a solution ?

is there any chance to use FeedBurner with the Prestashop RSS feed?

I would like to show the shop feed in the same shop. So I would like to upload it on Feedburner and give it back to Presta. But Feedburner can´t download the feed. Anyone with the same problem?

Using 1.7.1.2 and the standard feed modules to make and show RSS feeds.

The 1st one is an HTML one and in French language only.

The 2nd is made with Prestashop, in French & English.

I notice that the HTML website pages that I add get referenced much quicker by Google and they are ranked much higher than the ones made with Prestashop. Lately I did create exactly the same pages, with the same Meta tittle & keywords, text and images, even if the HTML pages are brought online a week after the ones with PS, the HTML ones jumped above the ones made with PS in no time !

I checked everywhere on my PS website to see what I can improve, but reached a dead end now.

So any idea/help from your side would be more than  appreciated ! 

since moving my sites to Prestashop I have experienced bad search engine results; and that was 3 years+ ago! Prior to that I enjoyed page 1 Google placement nationally for 2 or 3 of my main keywords, and even had 3 sites on page 1 all offering exactly the same products.

As my sites have fallen in the rankings, I have engaged a number of different freelancers to address the problem; all without any noticeable success, and so I am turning in desperation to the experts and fellow Prestashop users in the hope that there is something obvious that is being missed.

I have had site analysis reports, keyword reports, installed ssl certification, made the sites mobile friendly, have robots.txt files and sitemaps set up as cronjobs, have added content frequently and change content regularly, had disavow files created to remove bad links, had white hat link building projects, all to no avail. My main site today is at position 80'ish for my main keyword 'faux fur throws' and lower for 'faux fur throw'.

When I look at the page source, there appears to be mountains of coding on each page which must be masking information for spidering; should it all be there?

Unfortunately, I know how to make product, and how to administer the site, but my technical abilities are very limited and have to rely on freelancers or organisations for optimisation work, but after 3 years and many, many hundreds of pounds, I am no better off. Against my 2 main competitors, I am told that my site is on a similar level, but they are on page 1 and I am miles away and losing market share by the day. I can not afford expensive seo companies, and they all seem to want to do exactly the same work (a site analysis, keyword research, competitor analysis, link checking, etc.) all of which has been done several times.

I'm wondering how others keep an eye out for incoming orders. Having to constantly check the inbox is a big pain point for us.

I'm working on a solution that will alert the people near the PC used for PrestaShop operations that a new order email or an email connected to a new order is waiting to be acted on. This PC is located behind the counter of a retail store. The prototype right now is visual only, as the merchant does not want an audio alert. An LED that can be positioned conveniently near the PC will flash until someone attends to the email.

Anyone have a good solution already?
