Ana is one of our Spanish Ambassadors, based in Bilbao. Although she joined the Program quite recently, she is already super involved and already organized 4 meetups between October and March! To reward her dedication, we chose her to be our Ambassador of March. Get to know her better by checking out her answers to our questions below.
Three words to best describe you:
Persistent, hardworking and autodidact
If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it?

What is your hidden talent?

If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go and why?

What is your favorite local food or drink?
A “Chuletón” in a “Sagardotegi” (a local cider house) with friends
Give us a fun fact about your country:
In my region the Basque Country, we have the oldest language in Europe, the Euskera, whose origin is still unknown!
What opportunities does PrestaShop provide in your country?
E-commerce has grown exponentially in the last years, which has forced the merchants, big and small, to adapt to this change.
PrestaShop is a tool that gives the opportunity to any merchant to have an online presence, in a much more economical, faster and easier-to-use way, that we could have imagined just a decade ago. Besides, PrestaShop isn’t only a tool for those who start in e-commerce: because it’s open source, it’s perfectly scalable and customizable to any situation of business need.
Other e-commerce solutions don’t have this adaptability, and when the business grows, such solutions aren’t able to grow with it, becoming obsolete.
What is your feedback on the new major version, PrestaShop 1.7?
Version 1.7 is much cleaner and clearer than previous versions, inside and out. In the front, the “Classic” theme is much more pleasant than in previous versions, more “minimalist”, following the current trends and creating a clear design with fewer distractions. This allows for a better user experience.
The back-office is much more functional and intuitive, facilitating its use. On the other hand, the decision to change the core of PrestaShop with the introduction of Symfony, I think it’s a good idea and a great step forward that will make PrestaShop even stronger.
About being an Ambassador
What is your proudest moment as a PrestaShop Ambassador?
To have offered me the opportunity to be a PrestaShop Ambassador in Bilbao and to be part of the PrestaShop Community.
What do you like the most about being an Ambassador?
Feel the positive response of the people from Bilbao and nearby places, who have participated in meetups that have been organized. And the support of the PrestaShop team at all times, even before being an Ambassador :)
A last word?
I have to thank my return to the world of web development to the fact that I started working with PrestaShop a few years ago.
Thank you very much Ana!
