Jose and Ismael are our very enthusiastic Ambassadors in Malaga and always organize their meetups together! They’re taking their roles very seriously and are great contributors to the PrestaShop community in Spain. We want to thank them for their involvement and dedication by naming them Ambassadors of the month of December. We have asked them a few questions, discover their answers below.
Three words to best describe you:
Ismael: Dreamer, runner and eager.
Jose Antonio: Fan of challenges, committed and cheerful.
If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it?
Ismael: “Again, again, again”
Jose Antonio: “Life of a Technology Entrepreneur”
What is your hidden talent?
Ismael: I am a marathoner.
Jose Antonio: I’m pretty good with motocross ;-)

A favorite line from a movie?
Ismael: This one, from “To See The Dawn is Enough” (1998)
“- Why do you walk in zig zag, Mr Nge?
- Because you take your time to make the way and you can think better where you go, son.”
Jose Antonio: This is a line from the movie “Inception“ (2010)
"-Cobb (Leonardo Dicaprio): Now, before you bother telling me it's impossible...
-Eames (Tom Hardy): No, it's perfectly possible. It's just bloody difficult.”
If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go and why?
Ismael: am a hardened traveler, you can follow my trips at cuentaviajes.com. So any place that I didn't go before: Russia, China, Brazil, Mexico...
Jose Antonio: I would go to another galaxy to explore new planets!
About your country
What is your favorite local food or drink?
Ismael: Spanish Omelette (only potatoes, with onion is another thing).
Jose Antonio: I like “Espetos de Sardinas” and raisin wines “Pajarete” or “Quitapenas”.

Give us a fun fact about your country:
Ismael: We love talking, and any excuse is right to have fun! But we are passionate workers as well.
Jose Antonio: Always there are many hugs and two kisses on the cheeks when we see each other or when say goodbye. "Going out to Tapear"(eating tapas) is one of those moments where we have a great time, as Ismael mentioned ;)
What is your favorite PrestaShop store?
Ismael: Hogarterapia. The owner comes to all the meetups and is one of the people the most interested in PrestaShop. And Veum because they work in a different way.
Jose Antonio: I like many stores made with PrestaShop and it is difficult to choose only one. In our community of PrestaShop Málaga there are members who manage very cool stores and even some quite famous ones, for example, the store of Pedrita Parker (Illustrator from Málaga).
What opportunities does PrestaShop provide in your country?
Ismael: It is the easiest way to get an ecommerce store. You can find a big community that can help you during the whole process.
Jose Antonio: It allows any company or entrepreneur to have an online store to start selling online (even in multi-language) with complete freedom of configuration / modification using an Open Source Software. Also, it is an opportunity for developers and designers to generate revenue by creating modules or themes for PrestaShop Addons.
What is your feedback on the new major version, PrestaShop 1.7?
Ismael: I love the new easy way to make changes in the front office.
Jose Antonio: Integrating the Symfony Framework and therefore breaking compatibility with previous versions has generated considerable controversy in the community, but the new version 1.7 has improved the performance and has natively incorporated features that were quite necessary. For example, now you can create Child Themes or you can also indicate that a deactivated product redirects to a category of the store by selecting it from the product's page.
About being an Ambassador
What is your proudest moment as a PrestaShop Ambassador?
Ismael and Jose Antonio: The day when we gathered more than 100 people in a meetup!
What do you like the most about being an Ambassador?
Ismael: Representing a community that supports itself and grows at each meetup.
Jose Antonio: Organizing meetups with my friend Ismael where we meet people with the same passion using PrestaShop as an eCommerce solution. Networking is my favorite moment ;)

Thank you very much!
