Used by more than 37,000 stores across the world and gathering a community of over 70,000 members, PrestaShop confirms its position as a challenger of Open Source e-commerce by releasing the 1.3 final version of its software. This new version represents thousands of hours of development, and strengthens the functional offer already expanded of PrestaShop.
We have just published PrestaShop v.1.3 RC7, a release candidate again, which aims to correct the remaining bugs identified in the solution to release a final version as stable as possible and widely tested by our beta testers.
We are intensifying our efforts for the release of the 1.3 final version, many of you contributed actively to this and we thank you!
PrestaShop organizes its second Barcamp, on June 22 in Paris.
Real international event, this community meeting will be held at the Galerie de Nesle, in the heart of Paris.
This prestigious place hosts for this special occasion workshops, conferences, roundtables, but also chat rooms to meet and mingle in a productive and friendly atmosphere.
Developers, merchants, partners, e-commerce experts… All will be attending, around PrestaShop!
Due to several bugs encountered, we published PrestaShop v.1.3 RC5 and RC6 in a row.
The available version is now RC6 so, that we invite you to test in order to see the final version published very soon!
The RC4 version of PrestaShop 1.3 is now available. This one is probably the last one before the release of PrestaShop v.1.3 final.
This is Damien’s turn to answer your questions. Developer and PrestaStore manager, he talks about the daily management of our official marketplace.
Damien, you are the PrestaStore manager. Can you describe your activity in a few words?
With more than 15,000 registered members from everywhere around the world, both contributors and customers, PrestaStore is now at the center of the PrestaShop community activity.
My role is to coordinate all trade on this platform: checking and validating new modules and themes submitted by the community developers, answering pre- and post-sales questions, and improving the marketplace according to everyone’s needs. Otherwise you can add all the daily tasks of a classic e-retailer who takes care of his shop.
This week, discover how to create interactive scenes to highlight your products.
1 - Go to the “Catalog” tab, then in the “Image mapping” sub-tab. Click “New” to create a new scene.
2 – Write the name of the scene, then load the image from your computer which will be the basis of your mapped image.
3 – Using your mouse, select the area you want to tag, then link a product to this area. Repeat this operation for each area to map.
A pop-up will appear when the user’s mouse will be approached of one of the areas, presenting the product to which it is linked.
If you want the pop-up to show a specific image of the product, then load from your computer an alternative thumbnail, via the purposed field.
4 – To finish, link your scene with one or more categories, sub-categories… and save it.
