UPDATE 4/3/09
I have fixed an issue with PrestaShop not being able to edit a carrier added by the module. Fixed various small bugs.
UPDATE 4/2/09
Quick update to the module, I made a small mistake, it has been repaired. As always let me know if there are any problems.
—————-
Fixed some bugs in the module, please re-download and follow the readme instructions. I have included instructions in the readme as well if your doing an upgrade from a previous version. Again, if there are any problems please send me an e-mail or PM me and I will assist you.
UPDATE 4/1/09
Here is the promised update, I have included all the necessary files for you to upload the module and get it working. If you have trouble feel free to e-mail me or PM me, I will try to assist you. This update is a massive overhaul of the code as such it may or may not fix some of the problems you were having. Make sure you follow the readme 100% and perform the pre-installation so you don’t mess up your shop.
UPDATE 3/17/09
This is not so much an update but more of an apology, I have been away for some time now and I have not been able to support this module as I should have been. Currently I am working on a project that is taking up all of my time and I cannot put time aside to work on this module any more. However, when I finish my current project I will be picking up this module again and plan to have it working for everyone properly. I am sorry that some of you have been having trouble with this module — it is rather complicated to use. Don’t expect anything soon but do expect to have an updated beta module up in the near future. There are many bugs in this module that need to be worked out as some of you can no doubt see and there are many limitations at this point. In the future release I plan to eliminate these problems and offer full support the module. Its just right now I lack the time to do so. Again, I apologize, and do look forward to the update.
UPDATE 1/20/09
I figured I could offer help over Skype if anyone needed help. My contact name is: animecyc Don’t hesitate to ask if you need help installing and getting the module in working order! Also, please port any problems that you may have with the module here so that I can get a fix out as soon as possible.
UPDATE 1/16/09
Alright everyone, time to run around in a massive frenzy and give me all your money! WOOO!! Just kidding lol, But hey donations are always welcome too! My paypal is: if you feel that you want to donate a ‘lil bit, but hey don’t have to if you don’t want too. I have added my beta as an attachment, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed getting it together; and please if you find an error please let me know so I can fix it right away. I wanted to take this time to say that I am an aspiring web developer and that I am looking for some small projects that you may have (primarily programming, maybe you need a module for Presta?) Send me an e-mail, or PM, if you need anything done! Enjoy the module!
UPDATE 1/15/09
Sorry I haven’t been active lately I was on vacation from college so I was home relaxing, spending time with my family (sorry for those who were expecting an earlier release) I have a beta that I could release relatively soon, I’ll try to get it up by the end of this week or Saturday. I have received a lot of e-mails asking for a beta to be released to them as well I figured this would be a good response/answer for them too. Lastly, Happy Belated New Year!
UPDATE 12/30/08
Happy Holidays everyone, and Happy New Year! Just letting you know that I haven’t dropped the project as a matter of fact the release should be very soon. I have managed to get all the kinks out the module and it seems (as far as I could see) to be working very well. The base code has been dramatically changed and is relatively fast. Although the benchmark is somewhat slower then what I had before, it works a lot better! So if everything keeps running smoothly expect a release sometime in January.
UPDATE 12/05/08
Well I have a pretty nice update, I managed to increase the load times of the module from 6.3 sec to .8 seconds. This is a big improvement over the last alpha I was working on! The caching was also improved a bit, it helps to reduce the size of the database table. The code is still very messy but it works! I should have the beta coming out very soon if I don’t run into any snags. Please remember that when this is released (if before 1.1) it has only been tested on 1.1.0.3 and that I DO NOT recommend it to be used on a live store as rates could be inaccurate and could be a massive risk to you.
AnimeCYC This is what I really need before I open up my stores.
How long do you think it will be before you release it…
Thanks
As far as a release date I’m not really sure, I have a working model for it but I need to test it vigorously for errors. I’m hoping to have a full release sometime soon though. This was developed on the 1.1.0.3 beta so it definitely won’t be released until all the kinks are worked out of the module and the new version of PrestaShop is completed. In the meantime I will keep this thread updated with any updates I might have.
im dreading the day i have to update from 1.0 to 1.1 , those upgrades/updates can and will fail me EVERYTIME, have done so , in the past, on whatever i have tried to update =)
looking forward to the 1.1 stable, when/if it gets released

It’s always good to stay up on the releases as they usually have security fixes and such, I’m sure upgrading from 1.0 to 1.1 will be pretty easy given that instructions are followed, and yeah I can’t wait for the next release. Currently I’m developing quite a few modules for PrestaShop — but this beta is kinda killing me D:
its gotta be hard beta testing modules in a beta-phase software. i mean how will you know if its your module not working with prestashop, or the other way around. In anycase, i bid you good luck !

Haha, yeah but I found this beta release to be a good starting point to get the module up and moving. Hopefully in 1.1 they make it a bit easier to do custom modules like this. Maybe without class editing? Any how thanks for bid of luck, I’m going to need it!
Anyways, I love PrestaShop very much (no matter how buggy it is) so hopefully this will instill some hope of a shipping API being released sometime soon!

I would have DHL / Fedex /UPS at buyers option, connecting to its gateway, dealing with my DHL / Fedex /UPS account and discounted rates, and supporting all available international destinations & types of packages, generating auto pick ups and tracking lists.
That will be too exciting. I would like to stress payment and shipping gateway should be looked on as two legs of a ecom business.
