Have you guys had any problems with SSL in this cart?

I’ve been having problems for days. I thought everything was fixed now, but yesterday I noticed and security error when adding items to the cart after I have already gone to https. It seems all the core image files are not https even though I have it turned on.

I also contacted my host and after spending the whole day on it the now say its the script!

Anyone else come across this?

Here is my hosts response:

SSL works normal, you need to contact software developer.
As I can see option PS_SSL_ENABLED is disable in your program, I have no idea how to enable it.

PLUS

https://bagspalace.com/img/m/1.jpg works normal, but your site code change URL from https to http you need to contact software developer to resolve that issue.

I’m stumped-

Thanks.

I’m installed the final release. Hopefully this will solve my problem.

If nobody else is having this issue I am thinking my host is the problem now. But I’d still appreciate any input.
It seems the non secure items is only happening once the customer is logged in and starts adding items to there cart.

Thanks.

Well I have discovered that the problem is not my hosting or cert. I have installed another cart and everything is working fine. Unfortunately as much as I like Presta it is of no use to me unless this security error is sorted. The main problem is when, after logging in and viewing the cart you proceed to view more products the error shows. Its strange because you can create an account and check out without any problems, but once you decide to take another look at some products, non secure items error.’

Seems funny that no one else has run into this problem.

If there is a fix, I will be back to Presta like a shot!

But at the moment I can’t use it.

Same here, at the moment i cannot use it.
Presta needs to address these SSL issues before it is usable for me.
I have the feeling that they think security isn’t that important.
Well Zen-Cart works great at the moment, no loss there.
If Zen-Cart would address the difficulty’s with the template system it would be the best cart out there.

Howdy Red,

Did this work out for you ok in the end?

I just noticed this thread but I thought we’d sorted it out “elsewhere” for you….

@hydra ZenCart is an “improved” version of osCommerce and you haven’t a hope of any improvements being made to the template system…. not by any sane developer!

I know about zen-cart but it just works and check out the forum and userbase.
I think they have the biggest support forum out there. Very helpful.
Not to dis Prestashop but it is, imho, not ready for production yet.
I do think that Prestashop will be one of the best shops.
I guess i just have to wait a while, no problem.

Ronald.

I have to concur with this thread. Developing with PrestaShop is a joy — for themes and product management — until you get to enabling SSL. Then it’s impossible.

Shared SSL is not supported, and the hacks here in the forum are always either incorrect or incomplete solutions.

Please fix this so I don’t have to go back to Zen Cart…

We maintaining 2 shops with diverend hosts. In 1 shop ssl is running and doing fine in the other it’s not working.
The main reason for this behavior is: the first shop is installed in the root and the second one is installed in a map and this host has an diverend way to approach the ssl map: https://mydomain.ssl.hostserver.nl. Is there an solution for this problem? because prestashop uses automaticely the wrong url.

Hy ManicRed,

Ask your host if they use a diverend way to aproach the ssl.
If you want to enable ssl in the database, just edit PS_SSL_ENABLED and switch the 0 to 1.
