Got same error on images upload process at PS 1.6.0.9 when moved deployed site to new server (Ubuntu 14.04 x64 at amazon AWS EC2 Cloud). There we got bug in some themes js/product.js to fix it add line group_reduction=(group_reduction>0?group_reduction:1); before line priceTaxExclWithoutGroupReduction = ps_round(productPriceTaxExcluded, 6) * (1 / group_reduction); (fault was when group_reduction == 0 1+hr gone to find it.
