  1. I have a client with the same problem. I've checked the page to add a new product in Firefox, Chrome and MSIE, and I do not see any way to choose a product category on that page. None. This is extremely frustrating, as my client spent hundreds of dollars migrating a 20,000 product database into Presta, and this error is holding up going live with his site. If any moderators happen to read this post, PLEASE try to resolve this issue. We've been trying to solve it for months with no luck. Please.
  2. (Posted to another thread besides this one) The hosting company that my client uses came up with another fix - He said the problem was memory allocation for php apps on his server. He raised the memory limit to 128MB and the problem stopped.

  4. I'm also having the same issue. I went into the database and made the suggested change, but the prompt persists. Anybody got any other ideas?
  5. I'm working on a PrestaShop installation for a client, and he ran into a problem yesterday while trying to edit a product. After updating the information, clicking either 'Save & Stay' or 'Save' returns a 500 Internal Server Error. I looked at the error log and here are the last two errors recorded: Stack trace: #0 /home/webcat/public_html/presta/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_cacheresource_file.php(102): Smarty_Internal_Write_File::writeFile('/home/webcat/pu...', '<?php /*%%Smart...', Object(Smarty)) #1 /home/webcat/public_html/presta/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_cacheresource.php(367): Smarty_Internal_CacheResource_File->writeCachedContent(Object(Smarty_Internal_Template), '<?php /*%%Smart...') #2 /home/webcat/public_html/presta/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_template.php(230): Smarty_Template_Cached->write(Object(Smarty_Internal_Template), '<?php /*%%Smart...') #3 /home/webcat/public_html/presta/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatebase.php(259): Smarty_Internal_Template->writeCachedCon in /home/webcat/public_html/presta/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_write_file.php on line 44 [18-Sep-2014 09:39:24 US/Eastern] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'SmartyException' with message 'unable to write file /home/webcat/public_html/presta/cache/smarty/cache/20938/1/21/09/b1/86/wrt541ae08cbfe4f9.95381143' in /home/webcat/public_html/presta/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_write_file.php:44 Stack trace: #0 /home/webcat/public_html/presta/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_cacheresource_file.php(102): Smarty_Internal_Write_File::writeFile('/home/webcat/pu...', '<?php /*%%Smart...', Object(Smarty)) #1 /home/webcat/public_html/presta/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_cacheresource.php(367): Smarty_Internal_CacheResource_File->writeCachedContent(Object(Smarty_Internal_Template), '<?php /*%%Smart...') #2 /home/webcat/public_html/presta/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_template.php(230): Smarty_Template_Cached->write(Object(Smarty_Internal_Template), '<?php /*%%Smart...') #3 /home/webcat/public_html/presta/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatebase.php(259): Smarty_Internal_Template->writeCachedContent('') #4 /home/webcat/p in /home/webcat/public_html/presta/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_write_file.php on line 44 You'll notice that the last error has an extra line (#4) with what looks like a path error. The error recorded prior to it does not have that extra line. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this, and how to remedy the problem. I appreciate any help you can give.
  6. My client just had his product database imported into PrestaShop, and I'm excited to have such a great looking new setup to work with. I do have one problem, though. The products database is huge - over 20,000 products, with many categories and sub-categories. I added the two most popular categories to the top menu bar, and the flyout is displaying ALL subcategories, which makes the navigation way too large to navigate effectively. What I would like to do is have a few top menu items, and instead of showing all categories and sub-categories, I'd like the link to go to a page that displays categories with thumbnails. Can you refer me to a tutorial that would show me how to do this? I apologize for asking what may be an obvious question, but I'm new to Prestashop and I'm still trying to find my way around. The URL for the new store is http://actiontoys.com/presta. Thanks for any help you can provide.
