  1. Thanks for taking a look at this. It works fine now because I "fixed" it by turning off template caching. However, that is not really a fix because I would like to be able to turn on template caching and still have the template work (like the default-bootstrap theme does). I am not sure exactly how much performance I lost by turning off caching, or whether it is worth the time trying to fix the theme.
  2. Thanks, everyone. I found a module that will do the job perfectly.
  3. Hello, I need some help customizing the new products slider on the homepage of my site (the module came with a commercial template - it is not the default Prestashop New Products module). Instead of automatically showing the most recent products uploaded, I would like it to pull from a category called "New Products". Also, I would like to hide this category in the categories block. I could probably eventually figure out how to do this on my own, but time is of the essence and I need some professional help. Here is the site: http://www.modernfrill.ca Thanks
  4. Hi, I am having trouble with log in and log out buttons. When a new user creates an account on the site the login button still says login, with no apparent way to log out. When the page is refreshed, the button still says log in (it should change to log out as soon as the customer is logged in). When the user navigates to a new page the button changes to logout. But now, when you click the logout button, it continues to say logout (it should now say login). In this case, neither refreshing the page nor navigating to a new page will change the logout button to a login button. I have verified that clicking logout does actually log the customer out. This is most likely related to to the commercial theme I am using. When I switch to the default bootstrap theme, the problem does not occur. I have also done a clean test installation of the theme on Prestashop 1.6.0.9 and the problem is the same on that site. I have filed a ticket with the theme author, but have received no response. Also, the problem does not occur with a clean installation of this theme on Prestashop 1.5.4 I am hoping this is a relatively simple issue that I can attempt to fix myself. Any ideas? http://www.modernfrill.ca Thanks.
  5. Problem solved. It had nothing to do with Prestashop. I ran out of disk space. Increasing the quota in WHM fixed the problem.
  6. Hello, My prestashop installation has crashed. I only get a blank screen and can't access the backend. This happened a few hours ago, and I thought it might be due to a module I had just installed (a free accessories module from presto-changeo). I manually deleted the module folder via FTP, and the site appeared to be working again, until I tried to run a backup using the PrestaBACKUP module, then it crashed again. I got this error on the backend: [PrestaShop] Fatal error in module smarty_internal_write_file: Uncaught exception 'SmartyException' with message 'unable to write file /home/mysite/public_html/cache/smarty/compile/ed/f3/4d/wrt545bfd205ebd82.10510655' in /home/mysite/public_html/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_write_file.php:44 Stack trace: #0 /home/mysite/public_html/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_template.php(201): Smarty_Internal_Write_File::writeFile('/home/mysite/p...', 'compileTemplateSource() #2 /home/mysite/public_html/classes/controller/AdminController.php(1936): Smarty_Internal_TemplateBase->fetch('controllers/mod...') #3 /home/mysite/public_html/controllers/admin/AdminModulesController.php(1259): AdminControllerCore->initModal() #4 /home/mysite/public_html/classes/controller/AdminController.php(2337): AdminModulesControllerCore->initModal() #5 /home/mysite/public_html/classes/controller/Controller.php(163): AdminCont I do not seem to be having any server issues and I am able to access other sites on the server, and a blog site that is hosted in a subfolder of the prestashop installation. I can also access images stored in the prestashop root folder, but any other pages return a blank screen with no source code (not a 404 error). Please help. I took a backup of the entire server last night, but I have done quite a bit of work today entering in products, and I do not want to lose it. Thanks.
  7. Well, that sure is a glaringly obvious solution! Not sure why I was making things more complicated than they had to be. Thanks, statictic!
  8. Is there a setting in the back office that allows me to set the amount of inactivity time before employees are logged out automatically, as there is in WordPress and Joomla? Several times over the past few days, as I am setting up my shop I have entered information in, only to be booted to the login screen after I press save (with all my work lost). It seems as though the default amount of time to keep someone logged in with no activity is very short. I would like to extend it to at least 60 minutes or so. Is there a simple way to do this?
