  1. Thanks. It wasn't quite as simple as that but at least you gave me a place to start looking for the file.
  2. I would like to customize the look of my Maintenance Page for when I am working on the site and do not wish others to see it. I would like to change the graphics on the page as well as add an alternative link for people so that they can visit my other sales site when this one isn't up. Can somone tell me what files I need to modify this and where to find them in my server? Thnks!!
  3. As seen in the picture above it appears that the item has FREE SHIPPING. However, I do not have it set to that. Why is this? When you go to the cart and fill out all the information the shipping shows up just as it is supposed to. I do not want my customers to feel like they are getting cheated out of free shipping. How is this message generated and can I change it?
  4. A customer that finds you because you are selling what they want will stay with you forever! Retaining them is as easy as that. That being said here is how to make sure they find you: Use every bit of the SEO that PrestaShop has to offer. Enter as many TAGS that you think relate to your products. Write good copy for every product both short and long descriptions. Everywhere you have an opportunity to put text use your keywords. This includes photo descriptions/titles. Make sure you use friendly page titles conversions. Just make sure your pages are filled with keywords relating to your product. Here's the kicker though, make sure it is all conversational. Use your keywords in sentences. Use keywords for CATEGORIES. Instead of "Men" being the title of a category in a clothing shop, use "Men's Clothing" or "Men's T-Shirts" for the title. The more descriptive you can be the easier it is to be found. On picture ALT's make sure you describe the picture in detail. This is not only SEO but it is what a vision impaired person will hear when their program translates the image to text. Make sure to generate a sitemap for Google to index as well. All of the SEO options provided in the program are 100% free. Use every one to your advantage. There is also the automatic emails that you can set up for your customers. You can set it an automatic email if a customer does not buy anything with in X amount of days. This is a gentle reminder that you are here and you have products they are interested in. Yo can also harvest their emails in the sign up for newsletter section. Use them. Set up a free account with MailChimp and seen a newsletter. I hope I didn't ramble too much. You kind of asked two different questions: How to increase customers and how to retain them. Your questions were pretty vague, so I wanted to hit as many free points as I could for you.
  5. Try as I might to find a file with the name logo_stores.gif in m directory I cannot. It is definitely not in my /img folder. Any suggestions on where it might be hiding? *** It appears to have been renamed by the program to your-store-name-1404052235.gif Not sure if this number string is a constant or not.
  6. In my original post I stated that I have tried both GIF and PNG. Neither one show a transparent background on the Google Map page as indicated with my images in my followup post. I just tried to modify the image preference like you suggested and the images are still the same on Google Maps. I am using Version 1.6.0.8 if that helps.
  7. Turns out the file names were too long. I have a habit of making pic names 10+ characters long for SEO and it looks like there must be a limit on file name length on images in this forum. Unless the name TransparentGifIconForGoogleMaps.gif has a banned word in it.
  8. Here are the two pics that go with my above post. Hope this helps show what I am talking about.
  9. UPDATE: When I try and post a thread with an attached uploaded image it crashes me to www.prestashop.com
  10. Store Icon:They suggest using a 30 x 30 transparent GIF which should give a transparent background. However as shown in the second image the output to Google maps gives a solid background which looks terrible. I tried with both GIF and PNG to no avail. I looked in the CSS and TPL files and could not find anything to fix it. Is this a bug or am I missing a setting somewhere? I tried to attach files but it keep booting me to the main PrestaShop website when I do.
  11. Every time I try and post a new thread it takes me to the main PrestaShop website without posting the thread. What is up with that?
  12. I am working on adding locations of my retail stores to the Store Contact section. All is going well and showing up on the Google Map like it should. I just want to change the icon which is currently the PrestaShop finger over a shopping bag. Where do I change this?
  13. Is there a way to customize the "Maintenance Mode" page? I am talking about what other people see when they go to your site when you are in maintenance mode when your shop is not enabled. Basically I would like to have the page centered and remove one of the images(the one with the bag/wrench/finger) so that my logo is more prominent. This is in version 1.6.0.8
  14. Downloading, modifying and uploading worked like a charm. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't an editor built in that I was missing. That would be a great function on future versions for those of us who like to change stuff. My webserver actually has a file editor built in but it is quite buggy so I just use Notepad++
