  1. I am the victim of an online extortion scam related to ratings on Google Maps. Someone I have not done business with left me a one-star review - no review text - and now I am getting frequent emails offering to remove that rating for a fee. I have contacted Google twice trying to get the rating removed without any luck. I only do business online - I do not have a physical store, but for some reason (that I don't remember) Google required a mailing address for the business, which is my house. Has anyone had success getting Google to remove bogus ratings?
  2. I've been using Stamps.com for years, but their cheapest plan is $18/month and I have some months I might ship two or three packages. I just don't get much business anymore. My label printer just died, so this is a good time to look into switching services and buying a new label printer that works with the new service. What I am looking for: A service that integrates with PrestaShop for postage printing on a label printer without copy/paste into a separate app. A service that has no monthly fee. There are so many now I have no idea what to look at. ShipStation? Shippo? Pirate Ship? EasyPost? Veeqo? SendCloud? ShippingEasy? ShipMonk? Shipedge? ShipHero? ClickPost? ShipUp? Something else? What do folks recommend?
  3. I have a lot of past experience with the "free" 1-click upgrade module and it pretty much never works the first time. Don't know if it's because I'm on Godaddy, but I need an alternative that actually recovers from errors instead of just crashing. There are 10 paid modules in the marketplace other than the free option. They all claim to do the job. Most have 5-star reviews, but so does the free one! So what do I trust and why? And why does ETS-Soft have four different upgrade modules? I am currently on Prestashop version 1.6.1.24 A wrench thrown into this is I am currently on PHP 5.6. The lowest option I can choose other than 5.6 is 7.3 (which does not work with Prestashop 1.6). PHP 7.1 is not an option on Godaddy. So I need a module that will work in this scenario and tell me the exact point when I need to switch my PHP version. 4. I received 65 messages from "eric jones" in the past two weeks. I filed a Can Spam report with the FTC, but if the address is fake it won't do any good. I am on 1.6, so I can't implement the provided code and I will not pay for a plugin for such a simple feature that should be included.
  5. People keep telling me to start over. I do not want to start over. That is A LOT more work and I have a life. I want to do a 1-click upgrade. Please, has anyone done that under these circumstances or similar?
  6. I'm trying to avoid that. I did that once before and it was quite unpleasant. It's also harder to fix things now since Godaddy no longer allows commandline access.
  7. My current PHP version is 5.6. The lowest version Godaddy will allow for an update is 7.3 - the highest is 8.1 According to the PrestaShop PHP compatibility chart, Prestashop 1.6.1.24 will not work on PHP 7.3 1-click update warns me to update my PHP version, so what is my process to get to the latest version of PrestaShop? Is it possible to update to PrestaShop 1.7.6, then update PHP to 7.3, then update Prestashop further? Or perhaps is it possible to install PHP 7.1 on my Godaddy host manually? 7.1 is compatible with both PrestaShop 1.6.1.24 and 1.7.8.5. Or is 1-Click Upgrade in PrestaShop 1.6.1.24 compatible with PHP 7.3 even though PrestaShop 1.6.1.24 in general is not? Note that I am not concerned about module compatibility - just trying to avoid PHP problems during and after the update.
  8. I read other posts on this and the general solution is to up the timeouts in the php.ini file (or user.ini file, so I did both) To prove none of my timeouts are at 60 seconds, here's my PHPinfo: https://madmartian.com/phpinfo.php Despite this, I get the 504 Gateway Timeout error at 60 seconds on the following two Prestashop menus (clicking the links churns for 60 seconds and then errors): Advanced Parameters / Configuration Information Advanced Parameters / 1-Click Upgrade I clicked every possible menu option and only these two fail. I'm still on Prestashop 1.6.1.24 so I have to use PHP 5.6 until I upgrade Prestashop. And I can't even get to the Prestshop 1-click upgrade menu currently. I'm on Godaddy and the lowest PHP 7 they have is 7.3, which causes many errors in 1.6.1.24 (it supports up to PHP 7.1) so I can't upgrade PHP until after upgrading Prestashop. I did experiment with temporarily upgrading PHP to 7.4 and that did NOT fix these two gateway timeout errors. Any idea how to fix this darn 504 error? Happens in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. I'm on Windows 10 at home, hosting Prestashop on a cpanel linux shared service with GoDaddy. The error: Gateway Timeout The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application. Additionally, a 504 Gateway Timeout error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
  9. I am using the default theme and no 3rd-party modules - the most basic store you can have. The system wouldn't even let me get to the module screen - error 500. "1-click upgrade" is a kludge that never works the first time.
  10. Well nevermind. It took 30 minutes, but the emails did eventually arrive.
  11. A tiny minor update and email no longer works - no email is sent to the customer or to me me when an order is placed or when I send a message through the back office. How do I figure this one out? This was working fine on 1.6.1.20, but now is not working on 1.6.1.24
  12. So apparently that file was left over from my failed 1.7 upgrade attempt and deleting the file was the solution. Categories are working again. Is there a list somewhere on other files I should delete after a failed 1.7 upgrade attempt? I already deleted the files to fix modules (ps_ etc), but apparently that list was not complete.
  13. Notice: Undefined property: CategoryController::$objectPresenter in /home/wjf90ljtxjte/public_html/shop/controllers/front/listing/CategoryController.php on line 186 Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function present() on null in /home/wjf90ljtxjte/public_html/shop/controllers/front/listing/CategoryController.php:186 Stack trace: #0 /home/wjf90ljtxjte/public_html/shop/controllers/front/listing/CategoryController.php(103): CategoryControllerCore->getTemplateVarCategory() #1 /home/wjf90ljtxjte/public_html/shop/classes/controller/Controller.php(170): CategoryControllerCore->init() #2 /home/wjf90ljtxjte/public_html/shop/classes/Dispatcher.php(367): ControllerCore->run() #3 /home/wjf90ljtxjte/public_html/shop/index.php(28): DispatcherCore->dispatch() #4 {main} thrown in /home/wjf90ljtxjte/public_html/shop/controllers/front/listing/CategoryController.php on line 186 Note that line 186 in that file is: $category = $this->objectPresenter->present($this->category);
  14. I tried to upgrade from 1.6.1.20 to 1.7.6.x (whatever was current and stable). It went badly with 500 errors everywhere. I reverted to 1.6.1.20. Since then I tried going from 1.6.1.20 to 1.6.1.24. You'd think that would work. Nope. Mostly worked, but category pages all got the 500 error. It amazes me how bad PrestaShop is at updates. Every "1-click-upgrade" I've done has cost me many hours of troubleshooting to get working and the problem is something different each time. How much time should I devote to trying to get this to work when it could actually take less time to move my data to a new cart that doesn't have constant update issues? I will try using debug before I give up. Thanks for the tip.
