  1. Hey all, I am trying to tax a single product with, a single tax rate, no matter where it is purchased from, but I want the rest of my store taxes to be unaffected. The rest of the products should not be taxed unless they are purchased by someone from my home state. I also don't want to just change the product price to include tax because the advertised price doesn't include the tax and I don't want to "scare off" people shopping the price. I tried digging through the tax rules and product settings and couldn't get PS to do this. any suggestions? Also is there a way to disable taxes from being added to the price when a "member" is logged in? I don't want a repeat customer to see taxes in the catalog until they look at their cart. Thanks for reading!
  2. Hey I was being silly. I just needed to click the "enable method" button after I had selected express only. Admin please close or delete this topic. Thanks!
  3. Hello all, We have been having issues with PayPal in general in the last week or so. The PayPal module wasn't processing orders, it let you sign in to paypal but wouldnt process and then just dumped you right back on your cart, back at our site. So we tried changing things. We changed from Express only, to adding standard, so we have standard and express enabled. We also changed from single page checkout to a 5-step and now we can get the paypal module to process with express, but not with standard. We would like to just show the express icon, so I tried to disable paypal standard in the module configuration. Now the paypal configuration page won't let me disable standard. I click "express only" and it shows standard being un-checked (disabled) but when I save settings, standard re-checks itself and is still enabled. Anyone have any ideas? ps haven't upgraded to Prestashop 1.6 yet
  4. Start off with learning to use .CSV imports. It will speed things up quite a bit by enabling you to copy paste the relevant information about your books into a "list" that can be imported into your store all at once, adding products/description/pictures/prices into the proper places on your website automatically. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waGHqq9buck You will find that adding thousands of items can be done faster than you think using this method, but will still take time and effort to learn to use it efficiently if you haven't done it before.
  5. yes you can use "additional shipping cost" for each item. (See the picture) You must remember, however, that when you do this it will add cost for each additional item, so you set "additional shipping cost" to $5, for an item and someone checks out with quantity 5 of that item, they will have to pay $25 shipping. I have yet to find a truly solid way to set up shipping for many diverse items through prestashop. Anyone have a link for a more sophisticated module? (not trying to hijack)
  6. Hello again, I am still having an issue even after greatly reducing the number of values in my drop downs. I have some attributes with as few as 11 values, and they are still out of alphabetical order. 1st pic is from the the website/storefront, showing the displayed list is out of alphabetical order. 2nd pic is from Prestashop back office showing the attributes appear alphabetical 3rd pic is from Store Manager attributes are in order (Store manager is 3rd party software I use to manage the store including add values and attributes...it has a quick add feature that speeds up adding many attributes and/or values) Note: both Prestashop and Store Manager have identical Id#'s So, does anyone know why all my drop down lists are so scrambled? please help a desperate man! haha
  7. the order stays the same. no when i first uploaded they were out of order, but like I said if I sort the attributes in back office by name or ID they will appear exactly as I wished they would in the drop-down list. No store manager doesn't let me do that...I was thinking about trying to export the product through prestashop and playing with the combination id numbers to see if that changed anything. also does the group(attribute) position matter relative to other attribute options used on the product?
  8. Hey thanks I'll give that a go. I was manually able to get them into order (a few doing 750 by hand would take far too long) by just dragging them into place...is there any way to edit attribute position through import/export process? I feel like this must have something to do with how Store Manager is posting them to Prestashop...everything is in order in Store Manager, but when I sort the attributes/values by "position" on Prestashop back office it shows how everything is out of whack. yet the id numbers are assigned in parallel with alphabetical order. why wouldn't it just post based on alphabetical order or value id?
  9. hello I created a group an attribute with many values (500+) and its important that they are displayed in alphabetical order...when I post my product to the storefront, the drop-down list shows up and does everything I want it to do, but the values aren't in any order, alphabetical or otherwise. the list of attributes IS in alphabetical order, so I'm very curious as to why its not alphabetical on the my store front. Notes: I exported the product with a "combination ID" hoping that when I imported it the drop-down list would put them in order using the "combination ID." "combination ID" isn't recognized or supported when I import though..seems odd that I can a prestashop assigned combo ID but cannot it. Also I use Store Manager. Any help on setting the drop down list to be alphabetical would be most appreciated.
  10. Hello. I'm using a combination of prestashop and prestashop Store Manager and I'm try to change the tax settings with 2 problems. 1. I'm try to figure out how I can apply taxes only at check out. I want the catalog price to show no taxes, but at checkout if the buyer is from my home state I would like them to be taxed at our local rate. 2. Another issue I've run into is that my front office does not show my updates to any tax settings unless I create a new product. And even then once I modify that product with Store Manager it Doesn't show the tax anymore (although if I look at the product pricing it still shows that it is being taxed, in both prestashop and store manager.) its as if the changes don't write over the previous settings on the front office side. I have already populated my store with products and figured this would be an easy step (set the tax rate for check out based on state) it has proved otherwise. Things I've done: I have changed the group settings to include taxes and set the cart to show taxes and applied a tax to the products I've be trying to work with. I do have these warnings
