  1. Glad to know you already have the upgrade and it is no different. That will help me to decide even more precisely if I want to upgrade or not.
  2. No, I haven't received any responses. I am going to upgrade to the latest and see if there is an option in the new software or not.
  3. Thanks for this suggestion. I am not a php progammer so it will take some time for me to figure this out.
  4. In regards to creating a module, I was just going to use the block category module which allows me to specify what category id. Just like this screenshot of the blood sugar category. http://gyazo.com/29ffba53e4cf64e6b5412d0a45fce879 Can I not use that module? If I can how do you create a custom hook for cms pages? Thanks,
  5. Thanks for the clarification. The categories block has no exceptions listed. I am wanting to put the categories products in a 4 column display of the products on the cms page. So I am wondering if your suggestion will do that or does that put the categories block on the left column of the cms page? If so, I already have that showing on every page of the site. Just wanted to make sure I had become more clear in my description. You should be able to access that link now. If not, you might need to clear your browser cache. Thanks,
  6. Yes, I want to display the categories on more than one cms page. Specifically, I want to display all products for males and females each on a separate cms page.
  7. I tried to follow your directions but I see nothing about Advanced Settings in BO > Preferences > Themes. I am on PS 1.5.6.1. The module is hooked on left column now on the site.
  8. I have a need to show the blockcategory module on a cms page we have created. I have used the following include and it shows the word categories but no images. {include file='themes/warehouse/modules/blockcategories/blockcategories.tpl' id_category=84} I am wanting to have something similar to this page http://www.theherbsplace.com/84-Male_Products_page_1_c_74 take the place of the existing image grid that is there now. As it is now, I have to keep track that the images don't get changed by the manufacturer or a product gets discontinued. Using the cart derived categories page will eliminate both of those issues. 9. We use ipset and ipdeny.com country blocks to block countries we don't distribute into. Also, we are able to stop runaway robots burning up our bandwidth using fail2ban. You can google both terms and find a great deal of information on them.
  10. Hi GenZai, There is a reason there isn't much information out there. It seems Prestashop uses a unique way of accessing images. The image url is actually put together by a php program. Consequently, the cdn's don't know how to reassemble the request to provide the correct url. Some cdn's may have plugins or modules that do this automatically but I couldn't find one for the CloudFront offering through Amazon. Consequently, the only way I could make it work is to have my actual server be the origin server. Setting it up this way the image url's are rebuilt correctly but your speed advantage is diminished considerably. Therefore, doing some time tests I realized this wasn't a significant enough improvement so I have abandoned that idea altogether. Hope that helps. Randal
  11. I am trying to use the media server option and it works on 2 of the 3 directories the directions (see below) told me to put on an S3 bucket at Amazon. Images are stored in several separate folders /img --> p --> 6 --> 9 --> 69-small_default.jpg. Since PS is putting that image url together the edge servers don't know how to interpret that so they do this with the url http://xxxxxxxx.cloudfront.net/69-small_default.jpg Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) this is what it should be http://xxxxxxxx.cloudfront.net/img/p/6/9/69-small_default.jpg they leave off the /img etc. even though these directions say to do it that way from the PS docs. http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS15/Understanding+The+Advanced+Parameters#UnderstandingtheAdvancedParameters-Mediaservers I have uploaded the 3 directories to a s3 bucket. I can't find any definitive directions on setting this up. ****************** Is there something else I need to do to make this work? I have a VPS at Amazon and I am trying to use CloudFront. Thanks, Randal
  12. I wound up paying a developer to create a regular expression to test for the variations of PO Box in the address. If you don't have access to a developer or you aren't one, here is a link http://regexadvice.com/forums/thread/49538.aspx to a regex for PO Boxes. Hope that helps. Our site is customized quite a bit so don't know if where to put the regex will be helpful or not. We put ours in the credit card offline payment module since we don't use a payment processor but we use our manufacturer to fulfill our orders instead.
  13. How do you change the topic to solved? I clicked the "Mark Solved" button is there something more to do?
  14. Hi Okar, That really helped. I didn't know how the url syntax figured into finding the files. However, your explanation was great and has solved this problem but many more to come.
