  1. Just found these guys http://www.migrashop.com/ but they don't do CSCart and these do magento/presta http://profprojects.com/migrate-magento-to-prestashop/ http://www.presto-changeo.com/en/prestashop-migration-modules/115-magento-to-prestashop-migration.html and Chris at Logicalit.com.au will do the custom type import into Presta from almost anything As I find others I will post
  2. Hi All, I've got a bunch of sites in CS Cart which I need to migrate across to Presta. Seemed like Cart2Cart is the dominant player and so started with their service. The standard package migration did a very poor job so I wrote to them to ask what next. They said 10 hours of work (around $500) and I asked if it gets cheaper if I do multiple sites with them, but no. So I bought the package on Oct 2 and its still not done. It takes them about a week each time they ask a question to look at it again. And I have had to point out the same issues on several occasions which then costs another week. Maybe its language difficulties, maybe they're busy. I needed to get this done a month ago and I'm getting hammered at work for missing the deadline by so far because I'd said with 10 hours work it should take under a week. My bad. Are there any alternative services that people have used for migrating?
  3. 202ecommerce has indicated that the enable/disable function is not available via Prestashop's API
  4. thanks to Chris Fotiou for pointing this module out called "Activate/Deactivate a combination" from 202ecommerce as probably the best solution http://addons.prestashop.com/en/content-management/17711-activate-deactivate-a-combination.html
  5. Hi Paul, thanks for the reply. I see that deleting the variant is an option, but (I'm guessing) that would delete the data for reporting purposes from the database (also if at some stage in the future you want to relist that color you have to re-enter it)?
  6. wow, ok I'm guessing from the silence that you can't. What an oversight. What do people do when an option is discontinued, disable the whole product, then re-create a new one, all with the same barcodes? Only alternative I guess is to completely delete that option, but then I suppose you lose sales data. Messy?
  7. I can see you can disable a product if it gets discontinued by a supplier, but can't see either in the back end or in the API where you can disable a variant such as a color eg if a supplier stops making the light blue one? Every cart I've ever worked with does this, if prestashop can't, please let there at least be a module? <insert prayer>
  8. Ok for those of us who are interested in an ebay module for Australia the free module at this time just needs to be modified in the next version to pull down all of Australian ebay's shipping options, present it as a drop down and you could then select which ones you want to offer from a list. It may need to be mapped to the shipping offerings on your site as well. Since that appears to not be in the pipeline there are a few options $199 USD - The Prestabay module by Involic $199 + $119 - Store Manager for Prestashop + the ebay module 150 Euros - Ebay Modulo by Prestalia Free ebay module by Prestalia but only works for older versions of Prestashop Or see if I can get someone to modify the free module (I offered to pay the creators 202ecommerce but they don't seem so keen) So which one to choose? As soon as the free module works for Australia the Prestabay version at $199 becomes a bit of a white elephant considering how expensive it is. If it was $99 I'm sure they'd sell a lot more and it could then be viewed as an acceptable writeoff when the free one comes on line (I'm assuming it will because it needs only very small mods). So that leaves the decision on whether Store Manager functionality is worth it. If one thinks it is then the ebay module is only $119.
  9. If anyone knows how to modify the free ebay module to send the correct shipping types (only really 1 standard shipping type for me) I would love to know.
  10. I have tried this path and with these two mods you can get it to install and work beautifully except ebay won't accept the shipping service types. I think that must need to be customised for Australia. So I wrote to the module creators 202 ecommerce saying I got it all installed and only the shipping won't work and got this response "Hello Jon, We thank you for your interest in our module. Sorry but the module is not compatible for Australia. Regards, Keith"
  11. ...and it means you can't test so many things out because the changes aren't reflected in the front end. Like the changes that happen to the tabs in the product details page when you add attachments, or what the customers sees when you make changes to their order, or what it looks like when products run out of stock. You can do anything you want with the CS Cart demo and see the changes reflected in the front end. I can't assess Prestashop as a competitor for my purchase because I can't test out the details that matter. Very poor.
