  1. Hi Tredi, I'm looking for the same thing. I actually thought there used to be a module that could handle this but can't seem to find. All seem to be group % off. I want to import customers from that group, contact details etc and then apply a specific pricebook on only some products. Then I have another set of customers that receive another group of products at contracted pricing.
  2. Latest update is showing Cloud Support now - https://www.prestashopmanager.com/discover-the-latest-updates-of-store-manager-for-prestashop/ Feature:PrestaShop Cloud support has been added in this Store Manager for PrestaShop release. Now you use Store Manager for Cloud-based shop handling
  3. Strange it's working now, could it have been still applying an update in the background and PS thought it was still in maintenance mode?
  4. Hi, hope this is an easy one. For some reason after upgrading my store the domain when www.xyx.com is typed it shows your store is in maintenance and I drop www and it works. I've gone in to shop URL's and it did have the url of xyz.com however I changed this to www.xyz.com and still showing a maintenance page. I then can't get to the page via xyz.com now and show the maintenance page. Drop www and it works. Any ideas on where this change needs to be made to show www.xyz.com properly and why would it be diverting to the shop is offline for maintenance window?
  5. Also things like price comparison automation, such as check your pricing is inline with your competitors etc. A big use is things like online gaming odds, airline tickets prices etc this can basically become a DoS on your site if it happens too frequently. Some hosts provide Web Application Firewall solutions which include anti scraping technology. Like above noted some suppliers don't have their data and images available and say just take them from our site. Easiest way is to scrape them and have in a .csv output so you can import to Presta as an example.
  6. Yeah that's fairly key, I remember reading this recently on a dev talking about concerns of BigCommerce backing up on their cloud. http://digisavvy.com/bigcommerce-sucks-dyson-envious/ Main part of the full blog: BigCommerce Doesn’t Do Backups of Customer Data!YEAH. You heard right, brochacho y brochacha. BigCommerce does no backups of their customer’s data. So while making changes to a client’s site I was ready to transfer those changes to live. I pinged their support (who was very helpful by the way) and when I asked them if they could backup the prod site, I was told “We don’t have a backup tool to do that.” I asked “Wait, BigCommerce doesn’t provide backup tools or a service to backup customer sites?” I was told “No and that customers are responsible for backing up customer data and files. Guys, I was floored. How do you have a hosted service and provide no backups for your customers. Now, I’m sure that HAS got to be a backup methodology of some variety, just not for customer use to restore single-user sets of data… Again, mind-blown. So, development is kind of bad and data protection just isn’t a thing over at BigCommerce The inability to have in-depth product taxonomies is also limiting. Product variations exist, but if you have complex needs BigCommerce isn’t the solution for you. I think they’ve targeted a very small segment with their offering. But this is just a poorly thought-out platform, one that hinders design, development and a basic sense of security. What happens if BigCommerce experiences a data loss event? EVERYONE HAS THOSE at some point, no matter how infrequent, the lack of a backup tool is insane.
  7. I use this aswell and is a supported add on from the add on store. Direct Connection Bridge connection Direct Connection through HTTP Tunnel Direct MySQL database connection. Most of hosting companies allow direct connections to MySQL database. However in most cases you have to go to your control panel and add your home/office computer IP address or domain name to Access List - list of IP addresses allowed to access MySQL port 3306 from outside. This option can be found under MySQL settings. Feel free to ask your hosting support to assist you in enabling direct MySQL access, they must help you since it is trivial task. If direct connections are not allowed there is another way - secure SSH connection. Actually SSH is a kind of tunnel between two computers - your and your server. Other connections can be established via SSH tunnel. You can use SSH for MySQL as well as for FTP connections. See "Preferences" window, "SSH" page. The only info you need is SSH user name, password and remote port number - basically the same as for typical MySQL connection. Note: SSH settings do not override MySQL settings. To connect to your database using SSH you must specify all required MySQL parameters as well as SSH. PHP-MySQL bridge connection. If no direct MySQL nor SSH connection is possible or you getting frequent "Connection lost" events try PHP-MySQL bridge connection. Direct connection through HTTP tunnel. Store Manager allows to set-up Direct connection through HTTP tunnel as an alternative way of connecting to your database which possesses the advantages of both direct and bridge connection. This type of connection is useful if you don’t have direct access to MySQL database. Also, you don’t need to do POST GET operations to synchronize data with your store, all changes will be reflected in real-time. and Where is Store Manager connecting to and Why?1. Port 3306 (remote) - MySQL Used by MySQL database server at your store (website) in case if you have configured direct connection in preferences /optional/2. Port 80 (remote) - HTTP Bridge connection - a connection between your computer and your store (website) /optional/ Software Licensing (license.magneticone.com) - Store Manager verifies license by connecting to our licensing server. When this connection is blocked program will not work /required/ Error reporting (license.magneticone.com) - Store Manager allows you to report about an error in specific situations. Automated report can include a screen capture (you can disable this option), some sql queries (they may contain some data) and your database structure (structure only, no data). In any case you can check the report and decode if you would like to send it or not Check for Update (license.magneticone.com) - Store Manager can notify you if new version is available. You can disable this potion in Preferences form - Advanced tab 3. Port 21 (remote) - FTP Used to setup connection between Store Manager and your store with the help of connection Wizard /optional/ Used for image and downloadable (ebooks, programs, music etc.) product management /optional/ 4. Port 25 (remote) - SMTP Used for emailing. Depending of SMTP settings in preferences any other email port may be used /optional/5. Port 22 (remote) - SSH connection Used when SSH direct connection established through SSH channel /optional/Note that port numbers mentioned above are most commonly used but they can be different. 8. "Free? For real? PrestaShop Cloud and PrestaShop Download are entirely free and ready to support your ecommerce activities. PrestaShop earns money through modules-specific features-you can add to your store using our marketplace, PrestaShop Addons (it's like the Apple Store for iPhone or the Play Store for Android)." https://www.prestash...mmerce-software Also have to also buy their themes only: ADD A NEW THEME To add a new theme, simply connect to your PrestaShop Addons account and all your purchases will be automatically imported. There is also this, which for some reason is not as it was previously where you could just upload your custom theme: CREATE A NEW THEME (ADVANCED) Duplicate an existing theme and edit it; or create a new theme from scratch! Recommended for advanced users only.
  9. Would also like to see PCI Compliance and security + Backup info (I see you can backup DB, but what about full file and DB backup if I can't do a maual backup).
  10. Guess I'm talking about the PS Themes also from other sites and designers not just the free ones. A lot would have already paid for these. Bicommerce's lack of suitable templates was the main reason I didn't go with them for the smaller sites.
  11. I thought the cloud model for PS was a great idea, that's a deal breaker for me. If I don't host a site with my own template $0.00 comes from add ons to PS. It would easy to do a cost comparison vs the other cloud based competitors and take some bigger market share as they charge for some really basic functionality via monthly expensive add ons + fees on sales. Just found this, "Free? For real? PrestaShop Cloud and PrestaShop Download are entirely free and ready to support your ecommerce activities. PrestaShop earns money through modules-specific features-you can add to your store using our marketplace, PrestaShop Addons (it's like the Apple Store for iPhone or the Play Store for Android)." https://www.prestashop.com/en/ecommerce-software (I can't seem to find where it limits BYO template or migrating and existing store). Since you don't have access to the DB in the cloud I'll have to look in to my paid module Store Manager pro also to see if that's supported. Is there actual more detailed info on the service such as security/PCI etc? I would have no issue paying for a cloud service such as others available as they have limitations with limited feature upgrades and the expensive monthly modules. But I can buy a template, pay a monthly fee, import products and I'm up and running, for my smaller shops it's less painful. This new Cloud means if PS don't have a template I like I need to pay someone to customize or do myself. PS full functionality on a cloud would kill Bigcommerce and Shopify. I have a few sites one is PS, another two we moved to cloud and would bring back to PS if I could choose and use whatever template I wanted.
  12. I'm playing around with the PS Cloud and want to use my existing theme, it seems there is now a limitation. "Can I add my own theme? Please note that for security reasons, you can only add themes that are being distributed on PrestaShop Addons, the official marketplace." ADD A NEW THEME To add a new theme, simply connect to your PrestaShop Addons account and all your purchases will be automatically imported. There is also this, which for some reason is not as it was previously where you could just upload your custom theme: CREATE A NEW THEME (ADVANCED)Duplicate an existing theme and edit it; or create a new theme from scratch! Recommended for advanced users only. Only options I can really find in here are how many products do you want displayed and left or right columns. Then add a preview image of your store but not where to upload the actual template. Has anyone used and existing template successfully yet?
  13. Great thanks did that and works now. Kept looking for php.ini but host is using Litespeed and they, "added the PHP Execution time line into your .htaccess file added the PHP Execution time line into your .htaccess file" They asked me to follow the below for the other site I have but couldn't get it to work. They entered the RewriteRule ^$ – [E=noabort:1] in the first line is this where it always goes? You may experience issues in using your web based backup scripts whereby the script will timeout before the backup can be completed and transferred. This can include wpbackup or Backup Buddy whereby you’re using a script plugin to generate and shift backups to offsite locations such as Dropbox. To overcome this issue, please add the following line to your .htaccess file: RewriteRule ^$ – [E=noabort:1] OR <IfModule litespeed> RewriteRule .* – [E=noabort:1] RewriteRule .* – [E=noconntimeout:1] </IfModule> If you continue to experience issues, please contact our technical support team.
