  1. Prestashop version: 1.6.1.1 Theme: Default bootstrap Hello, Some of the links in my CMS pages need the rel="nofollow" tag, but the TinyMCE editor seems to strip the tag out when I add it through the CMS section (preferences > CMS) of the admin. I need the links to display as: <a rel="nofollow" href="XXX">Text</a> I can get round this by adding the tag to the links directly in the MySQL Database, but if I update the page at a later date using the admin pages it strips the tag out again. Is there any way to stop the TinyMCE editor removing the tag so I can edit it through the admin pages? I don't want all the links to have the tag, only one's that point to other domains. Thanks for reading this
  2. The product name (and manufacturer name) would significantly change the meta descriptions, it would also fill the blank metas I have now. I've used this format before on an older cart program and it works in the SE's (Buy $product_name by $product_brand at website.com). Although, for competative products and services you'll need proper, indivdual meta descriptions, it works for generic products. Also, can help to increase click throughs from the search engines as people who are looking to purchase the product can be persuaded to click on the link by using words like 'Buy the' etc.
  3. Sorry, does that mean it can't be done by changing the meta.php file?
  4. Thanks for the reply. It's about 2000 products at the moment that have duplicate or no meta descriptions. I will be filling in the meta fields on the product pages in the future (making each one different), but I need a 'quick fix' to keep the great god Google happy for now!
  5. Hello I've got a warning in Google Webmaster Tools about duplicate meta descriptions for some of my product pages. Some of the products I sell are very similar so the short descriptions are the same and some have no short descriptions (which leaves the meta description blank in Prestashop). Could the generated 'meta_description' be changed to make it different for each product? I think I've found the field I need to change in classes/meta.php (around line 253): $row['meta_description'] = strip_tags($row['description_short']); What I need it to say is something like (I know the syntax below is wrong!): $row['meta_description'] = strip_tags($row['Buy the $name at example.com. $description_short']); Also, would it be possible to add the manufacturer to the product meta_description so it would show: $row['meta_description'] = strip_tags($row['Buy the $name by $manufacturer at example.com. $description_short'']); Any help with the correct syntax or a way to do this would be appreciated. I'm using Prestashop 1.6 btw. Cheers!
  6. ytsejam74 you are a saviour! I've been trying all day to fix this error and your solution worked! For anyone else who has this problem, if your using Webfusion hosting making the change above (in the db_structure.sql file) should work if your getting stuck at the 23%, Create default shop and languages installation error. Thank you
  7. Thanks for the reply Vekia. Another user has updated the post below so it works fine now (the code in the controllers/admin/AdminCategoriesController.php file is slightly different in 1.6). http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/272602-solved-add-a-second-category-description/
  8. I need to put more content on my category pages. I would like to add a second description to the bottom of the pages (just below the pagnigation) which I can add a longer, more details description of the category. The text would be around 300 to 500 words and it would be different for each category. I made the modification below to my 1.5 layout some time ago (which worked fine in 1.5): http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/272602-solved-add-a-second-category-description/ But it doesn't show now I've upgraded to version 1.6? Any help would be appreciated
  9. Does anyone know how to get this to work in Prestashop 1.6? The additional text bit does not show up since I upgraded to 1.6.....
  10. I have the same problem. The Paypal button is in the displayProductFooter hook at the bottom of the product description, but it needs to be just under the 'add to cart' button? The method above doesn't seem to work when you view on a phone screen (because it's an absolute position in a much smaller screen). I've tried transplanting the module to the 'displayRightColumnProduct' and 'displayProductButtons', but it just gives the error: 'This module cannot be transplanted to this hook'. Has anyone got any ideas how to move or transplant the Paypal button (it fairly useless that far down the page)?
  11. Thanks for the update, I'll get that done. Think I might of solved the redirect problem. It was only redirecting on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc time going through the checkout. So if you landed on the site, added to cart then completed the checkout there were no problems, if you went to the checkout, entered details then went to look around the site or added another item to the cart the redirect would occur at the shipping stage. Turns out it may have been a file permissions (CHMOD) problem, most of the files were set to 764 (instead of 755). I've set them to 755 and it seems to work fine now.
  12. Sorry to bump an old thread on my 1st post, but I've got exactly the same problem..... I've got a brand new install of Prestashop V 1.5 and I've just activated the Paypal module. When I reach the 'Shipping' section of the checkout and check the 'Agree to Terms of Service' checkbox the page automatically redirects to the shop home page? It does this in both the 1 page and 5 page guest checkouts, the logged in checkouts work fine (the page doesn't redirect when the 'agree to TOS' checkbox is checked). Just wondering if anyone has found a solution to this prob?
