  1. I can't seem to find a pdf stamper module compatible with PS 1.7. Anyone found one, or got an earlier version to work with PS 1.7.xx?
  2. I checked back and found that PayPal have indeed updated (in 2014) their buyer protection to include downloads - my dispute was in 2013, so I missed out. Thanks for the confirmation.
  3. I had a terrible experience with a badly-written Prestashop module and escalated it to a PayPal resolution. Unfortunately, as it's software/digital services it's not covered by their money-back guarantee, and that was that! You have been warned... I support a few businesses using Prestashop and they've invested in many modules that simply don't work and are exorbitantly priced for what they are. It really rubs salt into the wound when you read the puff on the Prestashop front page about 'community' and then face the reality of poorly-written modules with no effective support. Fortunately, I have found a few independent developers that go the extra mile and offer great support, so I'm sticking with Prestashop for now. But I'll avoid buying modules in future unless I'm absolutely desparate.
  4. I have a site that sells printed books and small gifts internationally, using PS 1.5.4.1. In the UK books are 0% tax rated. However, we charge the usual 20% on gift items and some t-shirts. Prestashop doesn't seem to allow for both taxes properly to added for all orders outside of the UK, as the combined tax rule is an average not both together. (As the items are mostly small mail order items we don't allow for the reclaiming of taxes for tourists unless they visit our shop). Any ideas to add both taxes to international orders?
  5. I did receive an email from one of the developers, but still no demo link. So, I took a chance and went with the much cheaper module, which appears to be working ok. Am I stupid, or are review ratings non-clickable for individual comments and ratings?
  6. Well, I bought a module that, after some good assistance from the developer, really was a pretty ineffective module. Basically I paid good money for a module that offered little beyond what Prestashop already had within the BO. When the developer admitted that you still had to faff around to achieve what the module advertised as easy all communication stopped. And this is the problem. I'm currently after a simple way to embed html in Categories. I've seen the diy solutions, but want to keep my shop as standard as possible and just use modules to achieve certain features. There are no reviews and none of the demos even work - an absolute shambles frankly... Shall I take a chance on something unreviewed and not even available as a demo?
  7. Thanks - I have now solved the problem. I turned off some Prestashop caching options and set features tab to be off unless required. A reboot of my pc later and all is well
  8. Hi folks I was working on my 1.5.3 store, adding products at a fair old rate, (and the internet connection got a bit flaky too). I ended up with a pop-up message that said some tabs could not be loaded, and given the option to refresh or cancel. The message kept popping up despite clicking cancel, but when the add product page finally loaded it was missing the save, save and stay icons etc (only the back to list icon and help icons are showing now). I've had a quick search and checked that debugging/errors is turned off. I've cleared cookies and browser caches. I've also contacted my hosting company about Apache's mod-evasive kicking in, but it doesn't look like this was triggered at all. Any ideas how to get them back?
  9. Righto, I'll have a look at the most recent backup and see whether importing that table fixes the issue - I'll report back...
  10. Yes, I can certainly export and import databases and individual tables, but what method to actually repair them? I'm not even sure how a table is repaired? I have another PS installation with no errors that I can compare it to, bit I'm still not sure what specific error/mismatch etc is causing the damage.
  11. I'm not sure how this can be done? Is there a website or utility (I'm on a Mac) I can use to do this?
  12. Thanks for replying. I have full use of phpMyAdmin, but when I try to repair the ps_category_lang table it returns a message "The storage engine for the table doesn't support repair". A quick Google suggests it's because of Prestashop's default InnoDB option that phpMyAdmin can't properly repair it.
  13. I'm looking for a bit of help in resolving a possible database issue on my 1.5.3 installation. I have a product export module that produces a blank file. Turning on debugging produces the following error message within the file: Fatal error: Uncaught Incorrect key file for table '/tmp/#sql_a887_0.MYI' The developer suspects it's an issue with the ps_category_lang table, but I can't repair it from cPanel or phpMyAdmin because my install uses the InnoDB engine. The hosting company has confirmed there's no issue with lack of space in the /tmp folder, which the develop also suggested checking. How do I repair this particular table? Any suggestions appreciated...
  14. I'm running 1.5.3 with Multistore enabled and have noticed that the product add to cart button doesn't work, there's no cart display in the top right hand corner (and there's no customer login available). I have done a forum search and found a few helpful posts but the suggestions have not helped. It was working perfectly, but another developer was working on the other store front and I wonder whether that's why this has broken?... What I've done: cleared cache and cookies and used different browsers uninstall and install cart block, and checked position (it doesn't appear in LiveEdit) checked catalogue mode was inactive checked url/ssl settings (both set to www.ourdomain.com etc) I've seen reference to this as a bug, but thought it would have been fixed in 1.5.3. Any other suggestions before install again and import hundreds of products and settings again?! TIA
