email设置和程序里发送邮件的方式

email设置中有两种方式，一种是使用php mail() function，另外一种是设置smtp服务器。而这个对前台页面的“联系我们”页面中发送email信息的方式有没有影响？或者是作用于整个站点？

我也很想知道 用GODADDY的主机 好像会出现EMAIL sending ERROR
