Hi,

I'm upgrading from 1.4.7.3 to 1.6.0.9 using 1-click autoupgrade. But when start the Database Upgrade stop and show this Ajax error:

"[Ajax / Server Error for action upgradeDb] textStatus: "error " errorThrown:" " jqXHR: " "

NOTES:

I had to change the system image folder because was using the old version (directory p, without subdirectorys). Now the img system is modern and haven't any problem viewing images.

I'm using a local exactly copy of the online shop and have not problems upgrading from 1.4.7.3 to 1.4.11, but have the same error at same moment when upgrade from 1.4.11 to 1.6.0.9 or 1.5.0.1.

The shop has 13.000 products and needs high resources but I think the parameters of mysql and php are ok.

Can you help me?

I can say that, I have never succeeded upgrading using that tool, unless my shop is simple with just several customization or third party modules.

Also please noticed that, there is the BIG change and difference between 1.4 and 1.6, with a lot of new files. 1 click upgrade is not an ideal solution.

Does anyone have a good approach?

If I were you, I will do manually, like this:

- Upgrade database from 1.4 to 1.6

- Use the source code  of 1.6 and connect it with the upgraded database

- You might have to manually copy img folder from 1.4 to 1.6, then go to Back office > Preferences > Images, re-generate images.

- Do other things for third party modules, third party themes, etc

Anyway, in fact, it does not sound simple like this :), especially when your database is quite big.
