We are happy to announce that we have a beta module for handling realtime CC transactions through the authorize.net payment gateway!

We have tested it for a moderate range of cases in Sandbox mode, and all seems to be well. We welcome anyone in the community to try it out and see how it works for them, especially Prestashop team members and experienced developers. We are NOT experienced Prestashop developers, and it would be great to have more experienced eyes look over the code, as we rely on some calls to largely undocumented Prestashop core features. This module has *not* yet been tested for actual transactions as neither of us are at that point in our projects -- however it should work, as the principle is identical.

Features:
1. Invoice summary and Card info collection page
2. Payment summary and confirmation page
3. Transaction accepted --> Thank-you page, Orders updated
4. Transaction error --> reported, loop back to card info
5. Admin email notification for merchant login or gateway exceptions
6. Sandbox/normal modes
7. Proxied mode (untested)

Please PM me if you'd like to check this module out! Screenshots of what you get follow below.

Thank you,
Jesse

Definitely, that would be awesome.

We don't have the best handle on the language support aspects of Prestashop development, so please let me know what needs to be changed to make for good translation.

You may find the file at [file removed - testing new changes - PM for details]. Just unzip it into your modules/ directory and then install/configure it through the back-office.

Thanks for your offer to help! :)

-Jesse

According to Authorize.net's Website, Presta isn't on the list for authorized shopping cart systems...... Any truth to this? :smirk:

To my knowledge, each merchant bank sets up their own qualifications for using their gateway with your ecommerce solution, and I've not heard of an 'approved open-source solutions' list.

Hello:

I am trying to test this in a live store and I have been having problems. It says there an error has occurred and they are sorry for the inconvenience.

Does anyone know of this error? I have sandbox mode as off and without a proxy server (using GoDaddy)

If anyone can help out, I would appreciate it very much.

Hey Authorize.net Junkies :) I've been using this payment module for about a month now (sucessfully)

One thing I wanted to find out how to do is.... on the mail order invoice that's sent out for each order, it says the payment method is "Authorize.net" but what would really help is if it could say the card type used. Amex, MasterCard, Visa, Discover Etc. Is there a way to make this happen? The way we process orders requires us to know which card it is and this would go a long way to automating our process

Also, some of you mentioned some problems, here's two things that messed with me and I think I've fixed.

1. I was getting an error on the site with no details, but it would generate an email to me saying that there were issues with the billing state or in some cases that a phone number was required and not provided.

- The default prestashop sign-up doesn't have phone number required, it really should. But you can kind of hack the page and make it required or at least say (REQUIRED) next to the phone number entry, so they fill it out.

- also for the phone number and billing state issue, it turns out authorize.net was trying to verify the billing state and phone number and occaisionally these things were not provided (either because they didn't list a number or are in a country with no states) the only way I found around this was to sign into my authorize.net account and un check the boxes that making phone number and billing state "Required" to process transactions. Once it wasn't a required element, it stopped throwing me erorrs.

Prestashop should require phone numbers for sign up and the Authorize.net Plugin should alter how it deals with states and phone numbers in regards to sending that info to be processed.

Just my two cents, hope it helps.

Is this module dead already? doesn't seem like much activity here.

I would also like to add a suggestion in case someone picks it back up. When you get to the payment method could we change the image and "pay with Authorize.net" to the credit card logos and text read "pay with credit card"? customers don't know what authorize.net is....having the option to choose card type would be nice to as the poster above mentioned.

Its sad there's not more activity with this module to tweak it a bit more and some other modules. To run an online shop and have so few ways out of the box to allow the customer to pay is beyond me. also without shipping modules for UPS, Fed Ex, etc. is also hurting one of the best ecommerce software I have tested, and I have tried a few...

The devs did an absolutely incredible job on Prestashop and my hats off to you guys for the hard work I know you put into it but, You dropped the ball without just a few modules such as above.

Read around the net concerning those modules and a few others and you'll find out why it has not blown oscommerce, Zen Cart, X cart and the rest out of the water and even competing with Magento.

Prestashop will hopefully get there soon but until people can give customers options to pay and options to ship whats the point.

And to the dev of this module...don't give up...Please!

If you know your way around the file structure of your site, you can get in there and make those changes yourself - see http://www.realmusic.com/store/ I use the same plugin, but you just find the location of the "Authorize.net" logo and change it to the credit card logos, same with finding the the TPL file with the text "Pay with authorize.net - change to - pay with credit card" you may even be able to do this through the "Translations" section of the back-end of prestashop.

I had these same problems and had to fix them myself, but it wasn't that hard. Also, I contacted the makers and heard they're working on an update and it should be coming down the pipe soon *fingers crossed*
