Issues upgrading from 1.4.6.2 to 1.6.0.9

Recommended Posts

I did a back up of my DB and when I installed the new Prestashop, it requested the Table Prefix, which was set to "ps_" by default during installation. However it would not let me save "ps_" so I used "psu_" and it allowed me to complete the rest of the installation.

BO is working OK

Tried to Import my original DB but now I have a set of tables called psu_ and another set called ps_

Is there a way to import all the files into the psu_ table so the site will reflect the data I had or are the two versions incompatible?

if following proper upgrade path, one would not 'import' database after installing PrestaShop.  That simply would not work even if you somehow managed to do it. :)

maybe this really useful guide will help you with your upgrade, we have just completed several 1.4 to 1.6 upgrades, 1.6 rocks!

Bugger - I assumed I could backup the DB and re-import it!

Being a newbie doesnt help in my cause! Thanks, I'll read the link! :)

oh, you will find the upgrade path really pretty easy.

tip: it is often better when using one click upgrade and 1.4, to upgrade to 1.4.11.  Followed by upgrade to latest 1.6.

Always do this on a test copy of your production shop.  Do NOT do this to production shop.

Is it possible to export the data in table "ps_x" to "psu_x" or rename the tables so the ps_x becomes psu_x and as a result all the information is taken from the old tables!

Arrrrgghh!! :( Im going to have to start from fresh; add all my products, images, etc, again??

  • 1 month later...

Following your advice and try to setup via wamp, however after all it switch to live hosted site instead the local site.

must be something in the settings can't find it anyone can help me.

Have to upgrade from 1.4.11 to 1.6xx

thanks

1. on wamp, delete the .htaccess from remote shop if exists

2. if you can access the back office then bo-->preferences-->seo & urls-->set domain name ssl domain to localhost-->set folder to folder you have locally placed folder (folder name)

3. you can also change url, using phpmyadmin-->opend your db-->table ps_shop_url-->here you can change to locahost and folder as stated in (2.)

suerte (luck) el
