fightgear Posted October 15, 2014 Share Posted October 15, 2014 Hello, I am setting up a new shop, and I can't decide if I want to go with 1.5 or 1.6. 6 months ago, when I started another shop, I was adviced that 1.5.6.2 was the best version at that time - the 1.6 was still bugged and had errors. I have checked out the demo backoffice, but I can't spot any new functions there are not in 1.5.6.2, the menues and layout is rearranged, but thats all the difference I can see? PrestaHeroes USA Posted October 17, 2014 Share Posted October 17, 2014 In addition, the default theme is a lot better and responsive mucho! also developers created themes for 1.6.0.6, this forced them to support 'all' javascript bottom, even though this is now optional in 1.6.0.7+. sweet to original poster after you build your new shop and look at themes, make sure that the theme is designed to work with javascript bottom! Can someone explain this in more detail? in todays world, we have compress/mimified and really done all possible to 'decrease' size of servied page, this all for performance. PrestaShop, is way ahead of the curve when it comes to decreasing time for 'above the fold'. This is what visitors see when they land on a page. When we are allowed to remove 'render blocking' (i.e. parsing of javascript) then the above the fold content is render 'much' faster.
