Bad configuration file

Recommended Posts

Hello all my name is Marina I am a web designer and decided to get involved with prestshop in order to start creating my own eshop.

So I am completely begginer.

I am trying in installing a new module in my prestashop, either a new one that I have created or a free ready made template and I am recieving the following message

"Bad configuration file"

I have read a number of forums posts and have done what they said but no difference, I have also cleared the cache.

I have the PrestaShop™ 1.6.0.9 version.

I will appreciate your help as if I do not solve this issue I will not be able to move any further and add my products.

Thank you for your time

Marina

It might simply be a broken theme then, you should try others, which are compatible with that ps version

I have tried to create by myself and also Ihave duplicaed the dfault theme of presta shop.

I am sending you the zip files if you would like to have a look.

Kind Regards

The theme you created is not working. Read this guide to make your themes compatible. http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS16/Developer+Guide

Thanks!

Thanks for your time I know that my templte needs more work but why I can not upload the  one.zip that is the copy of the default theme of prestashop6.

Also is a normal config.xml file has the following structure?

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<theme>
    <version value="1.4">
        <ccc available="true" />
        <guest_checkout available="true" />
        <one_page_checkout available="true" />
        <store_locator available="true" />
    </version>
</theme>

Thanks

Marina

Except of the theme issues I want to check the Technical requirements that my server needs in order to work the presta shop.

I have Current PHP version:  5.4

I was thinking of installing an older version of prstashop than 6 in oorder to see if the ready made templates I have downloaded wil be installed.

Regards

Marina
