cronjobs and crontab no longer working

Recommended Posts

I installed Petrashop 1.6.0.5 a couple of days ago and I was only having minor problems with the cron jobs mainly that I was not sure if they were working properly.

However after that major update of modules a couple of days, the cron jobs started sending out the following message 'Unable to create directory: /home/virtfs'.

However now it is worse. After the last bulk updates this morning, nothing happens at all!!!!!!

I have not received any reports at all from the cronjobs. As I am running Crontab for Prestashop v1.3 my first thought was to check that out and found out it is no longer working. I am running the Server Crontab method which has been okay up to now when I would receive the usual email. When you run the test in Crontab nothing happens.

I deleted the command on my server to run Crontab to see if the cron jobs would run by themselves but the cron jobs are still dead.

I bundled both of these problems together because possibly the problem lies with both of them.

I believe the problem lies somewhere in the new module updates because that is where the problem started after the updates but where exactly I would not have a clue because I have checked each of the bulk module lists checking to see if Crontab or Customer Update was included but I could find no reference to either of them.

Cron jobs are important because they can help to recover lost sales and/or increase sales with special discounts so some attention should be made to fix these problems.

An update of what is happening with this problem:

1. The crontab module now appears to be working okay.

2. The update currency cron appears to be working okay.

3. There is still a problem with the Customer Follow up cron job. Now everytime it runs I get a 500 Internal Server Error. This is a new error message and is completely different than any messages I received before.
