Well I will introduce myself anyway. I am Tom and the above is pretty much my intro :) I work for Groovy Web Design and we turn out, actually, a lot of carts for customers and I really like Presta a whole lot. I have been super impressed and can't wait to keep using it and stop buying X-Cart to only be let down and frustrated.
Maybe if enough people are interested then we can get a thread for introductions!
Thanks
Tom

Me:
I'm a graphic designer & creative director for a small gaming/entertainment company. I also own a small cosmetics company which is what I use prestashop for. I'm also a painter. I do graphic design jobs for extra cash (yes, that means custom presta templates ;] )
I use presta because its an editor/graphic designer's dream. It's the only cart as far as I know that uses tpl files and properly.

I'm head of communications here at PrestaShop. My background is in French and Communications, so working at PrestaShop here in Paris is a natural fit in many ways.
I also have the distinction of having been PrestaShop's first client. Last year I was managing the effort to create an online boutique for an African art gallery in Paris. My efforts were being frustrated by the commercial and open-source shopping-cart software on the market when a mutual acquaintance introduced me to Bruno, PrestaShop CEO, who was just starting out at the time. Even back then, PrestaShop v8.0 (!) showed great potential and served our needs well.
After that project had finished, Bruno and I agreed to continue our collaboration, so _me voilà_.
Part of my responsibilities include managing this Website and moderating the English-language parts of this Forum, so please let us know in the "PrestaShop.com thread":/forums/viewforum/32/ if you have any suggestions for either.

New here, I discovered quite recently Prestashop ! I own a lingerie boutique and opened my own " home made " site in december 07 . As the site is doing well, but has the main drawback of being written in html , I decided to move to a less hassling solution for managing both real and virtual boutique ! My friends and I know nothing about programming and we did all by learning by ourselves and forum from scrap !
the adress of the site is http://www.ann-secrets.com ( please be indulgent ! ;-) )

I think it is really awesome! Keep up the good work.

Nice to meet you! Yeah I completely understand what you are saying about all the osCommerce descendants. Hope you continue to really enjoy the Presta! Stay away from X-Cart unless you want to really get a migraine from the painful weirdness of that cart. :)

I'm a webdesigner from the Netherlands (Holland). I found PrestaShop 'by accident' a few days ago. I've been searching for an e-commerce solution like this for quite some time now.. I never wanted to use osCommerce, because it's ugly and I really didn't know where to begin with changing its looks.
I'm still trying to get the hang of PS, but so far it's going quite well :)

Just wanted to say hello. Really like Prestashop so far, and learning as I'm going through everything. Currently working on a magento site at the same time as setting up here, and kind of wish I'd never started now I've found Prestashop!
It's definately the best looking option I've seen, and even I'm finding it fairly easy to use, which is saying something.

I last tried PS about a year ago but didn't have time to spend on it.
I'm assuming that it's improved tons since then.

I thought it was about time for my first post here. :-)
I’ve been using osC for the last 12 months and it has worked very well however I’ve spent the last two weeks reading this forum and playing with Prestashop and I am very impressed. In fact I’ve spent the last few days transferring my products across and hope to go live in a couple of weeks.
Keep up the great work. This is sure to be a winner.
I have a ton of questions but I’ll post them separately.
Regards.
Ken.

I'm a german student of computer science at the Technische Universität Darmstadt and currently working on a payment module. Also developed modules for osC, xtC and ZenCart, but PrestaShop is the best written shop so far - with very clean interfaces to the data classes and a well working template structure. Waiting for more from the center of love ;)
Greetings
Nico
