One does not know how I can make auto logout? For example a person for 20 minutes in to your account does not she need a new login

Happy Holidays everyone, and Happy New Year! Just letting you know that I haven’t dropped the project as a matter of fact the release should be very soon. I have managed to get all the kinks out the module and it seems (as far as I could see) to be working very well. The base code has been dramatically changed and is relatively fast. Although the benchmark is somewhat slower then what I had before, it works a lot better! So if eveything keeps running smoothly expect a release sometime in January.

Well I have a pretty nice update, I managed to increase the load times of the module from 6.3 sec to .8 seconds. This is a big improvement over the last alpha I was working on! The caching was also improved a bit, it helps to reduce the size of the database table. The code is still very messy but it works! I should have the beta coming out very soon if I don’t run into any snags. Please remember that when this is released (if before 1.1) it has only been tested on 1.1.0.3 and that I DO NOT recommend it to be used on a live store as rates could be inaccurate and could be a massive risk to you.

I have a UPS module in the works for PrestaShop, for now I have attached an image I made in my free time of what it looks like. Features so far include:

Flawless integration
You only need to edit a single file in PrestaShop to enable the module to work properly. All shipping methods added through the module are visible through the “Shipping => Carriers” tabs, giving you the ability to choose a default carrier. Intgerates with the “Free Shipping” feature, only the module gives you the choice of what shipping method has free shipping (who would want to give away free international shipments? Then again now you have the ability to pick and choose what method does what) Enabling and disabling the module does not interrupt PrestaShop or cause errors either, heck I’ve even thrown in the ability to add a method and disable it for future use. What more could you ask?

Fast
I’ve integrated a custom cache management system in the module to decrease page load times, normally the request to UPS would be shot out every time the page is loaded (assuming you have the Cart Block Module) now it logs the rate per user and checks to see if there are changes in the cart, if said change takes place the script is fired and a new rate is generated.

Beta?
Yeah… about that I’m still running tests on the module and it probably wont be available as soon as you could want it, but hey I’m still waiting for the next final for PrestaShop to be release, so we’re even yes? While you wait stare at the beautiful image I made.

Well, I’ve got an idea! Throw some suggestions at me that you would like to see in the release and I’ll see what I can do.

Anyways, I love PrestaShop very much (no matter how buggy it is) so hopefully this will instill some hope of a shipping API being released sometime soon!

Is there a Gift Certificate module?

I am looking for a module that when my customers purchased a Gift Certificate for someone or themselves, they can redeem it later on, and the amount will be auto adjusted and only show the remaining amount after the purchase. Is there a module similar to this that I can modify it? Do you have any idea that can share it with me?

Need to set carrier when logged out.

I need to mod the code to set the carrier BEFORE logging in. The following only works when logged in.

$cart->id_carrier = 2;
$cart->update();

Any ideas on a good place(filename or line number) to start?

How can I unencrypt COOKIE for dev purposes?

Can someone point me to somewhere in the code where I can bypass the cookie encryption?

I need to watch some variables through Firefox’s cookie panel.

Was thinking somewhere in Blowfish.php but haven’t spotted a way to do it yet.

Forum Module

Hi Everyone,

I am thinking of creating a forum module. But an integrated forum would take a lot of effort and time. So I will be providing it for a fee. I need to see what the demand for such a module would be. If there is not enough demand, I can not spend the time on the development. So please fill in the poll if you are interested.

Initially it will have basic features of a forum. And I plan to add enhancements after the first release. The users of your Prestashop will be able to use the forum without a separate registration or login.

A list of features:
-Categories/Sub categories
-Rich text editor
-User profile
-Private messaging
-Avatars
-Sticky topics
-Banning
-Admin control
-Link to a topic from a product

How do I add/change text for pages in the Information Module?

I can’t seem to find where I can add/change text to the pages in the Information Module, such as Conditions, Legal and About us. Does anyone have a copy of the manual?
