Founder of SYBEL and Meilleurtaux.com, Christophe Cremer becomes head of PrestaShop.
Paris, January 13, 2010 – PrestaShop, a French Open Source software publisher and European leader of e-commerce site creation and management solutions, announced today the appointment of Christophe Crémer as CEO. At 56, he founded and headed the company Meilleurtaux.com after having created Sybel Informatique. Based in Paris, his mission will be to lead an ambitious development strategy in the growing field of e-commerce. This strategy is based on technology recognized worldwide (PrestaShop won the “Open Source Award 2010”), on a base installed by over 50,000 e-commerce sites worldwide, on a representation of over 12% of e-commerce sites in France, and on a community of over 160,000 active members, including 50,000 developers.
An entrepreneurial journey marked by much success
After having received his diploma from HEC in 1976, as well as from Paris Dauphine, Christophe Crémer began his career at Citibank. In 1984, he created the company SYBEL INFORMATIQUE that specializes in microcomputer management software. In this new field, the company grew rapidly and became a French leader by 1995 with a client base of over 15,000 customers, 300 employees and more than 20 million Euros of turnover. SYBEL INFORMATIQUE was bought up by the SAGE group in late 1995.
After several projects in new technologies, Christophe Crémer created the company Meilleurtaux.com in May 1999. A pioneer in France of the online brokerage of real estate loans over the Internet, he raised 5 million Euros from institutional investors. After seven years of exponential growth, in 2007 Meilleurtaux.com makes approximately 50 million euros in turnover, with 650 employees located in 48 agencies, and receives over 450,000 applications for home loans on its site. Then listed on Eurolist market, Meilleurtaux.com was bought in late 2007 by a consortium led by Caisse d’Epargne.
Christophe Crémer is also administrator of the company Twenga, acts as a business angel for several Internet start-ups, and also sponsored the 2010 promotion of the HEC Incubator.
